This lovingly restored one-hundred-year-old farm house is a perfect spot for people who want to to get away from it all in a relaxing rural setting.
It is situated in the countryside near the Leitrim -Roscommon border and is a perfect base for exploring the local areas of Drumbshambo, Carrick-on Shannon, and Sligo

The space
It has been used by our family and some of our musician /artist friends over the last 10 years as a place to take time out. We finally came around to the idea that we should share the space with other people that would appreciate it.We put a lot of love into this house.

Music - We have kitted it out the main living room with a top of the range sound system that has a mini-jack for phone and laptop connections. There is also a cd and record player. We have left a selection of CDs and Vinyl for your pleasure.

Real fireplace - The house has got a 20kw output multifuel double sided glass front stove that heats both kitchen and living room at the same time.

Bathroom - The bathroom has a very large Victorian bath tub placed in the centre of the room that is amazing for relaxing. It also has a fireplace you can light and watch while bathing.

Movies - The house has a 60inch TV in the living room with a selection of movies to watch.

Cooking - We have a passion for cooking, the house is fitted with a 5 ring gas hob and electric oven and all the good quality cooking equipment required for a dinner party.

Guest access
Please treat the house with respect but use the house as if it was your own. Feel free to use everything in the house.

Other things to note
It is easy to lose yourself in Leitrim and Roscommon. Removed from the pressures of urban life, and instead surrounded by quaint towns and cinematic scenery, Leitrim lends itself very well to outdoor discovery. Whether you are the kind of person that enjoys a saunter through nature or vigorous exercise, there’s plenty to pique your interest.

Arigna Mining Experience center was developed to preserve the energy heritage of the Arigna Valley and to ensure that Arigna maintains its link with Energy themes: Past, Present & Future.
This Energy Centre provides visitors with a unique insight into what coal mining life was like in the Arigna Valley, since its beginning in the 1700's until closure in 1990.

Angling
Leitrim and Roscommon are an anglers’ paradise supporting a huge population of wild fish.
Coarse fish species include bream, roach, rudd, hybrids, tench, pike and perch. Game fish species include wild Atlantic salmon, sea trout and brown trout. The county also has a reputation for friendliness and hospitality and the visiting angler.

Surf Safari
Leitrim Surf Company will arrange for you to explore the waterways of Leitrim via paddleboard, and it’s just as much fun as it sounds.
With three routes to choose from, this water-world is your oyster. Explore the Drumshanbo Canal between Acres Lake and Lough Allen. Drink in the lush greenery as you saunter down the canal on your paddleboard. If you decide to paddleboard between Leitrim Village to Battlebridge, or vice versa, you can work up a thirst on the Shannon Blueway between the two villages.
For those looking for a bit more of a challenge, Leitrim Surf Company offer a four-hour long, early evening safari. The safari begins at Lough Allen and moves down the Shannon, encountering flat and moving water. Then, satiate that fierce appetite you’ll have after all that exercise with a barbecue at Beirne’s of Battlebridge.

Cycling the lakes and forests
If you enjoy the wind in your hair, check out the Kingfisher Cycle Trail. Taking in some of Leitrim and neighbouring Fermanagh’s most stunning scenery, there are trails of varying difficulties and lengths.
If you’re a keen cyclist, it’s definitely worth tackling the more challenging routes – you will be justly rewarded for your efforts with breathtaking views. Other trails are perfect for inexperienced riders and should you not want to break a sweat there are always electric bicycles for rent.

Explore the waterways
Leitrim’s extensive waterways are perfect for canoeing. Whether you’re interested in touring still, flat, glassy waters or mastering a little white-water action, you’ll find a lesson or course to suit your pace with Lough Allen Adventure.

Take a hike
Do you love nothing better than exploring the landscape by foot? If so, Leitrim is brimming with options for you. The Glenfarne Walk traverses some of the highest points of Glenfarne Wood and is perfectly situated for you to take a break and appreciate the vista over Lough MacNean.
If you really feel like pushing your hiking boots to the limit, try the Leitrim’s Looped Walks trailing old and new paths, but it offers an unequalled chance to witness the beauty of the Leitrim wilds on foot.

We are a young fun loving family who is passionate about, music, good food and outdoor living. My wife Emma and I have been together for over 10 years and we have two beautiful little boys, Tadhg who is 8 and our relatively new boy Lennon who is 17 months. While we now live in Wicklow, we still use this house for our family breaks as we love the area and the friendly locals. We love travelling, we have travelled extensively worldwide and it was always important for us to find somewhere that was homely and comfortable. We hope our house will provide this for you. We hope enjoy the space .
