Ribble Cottage is a spacious five-star retreat that sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms. Adjoining Hodder Cottage, Ribble overlooks Oakdean’s peaceful private gardens. Inside, the open plan layout is furnished with all modern comforts including zone-controlled underfloor heating.
The two bedrooms – one double and one twin are each equipped with en-suites – one with a half bath and overhead shower, and the other with a double shower. We can make our twin room into a second double (so the cottage becomes 2 x double bedrooms, each with an en-suite) on request.
A modern kitchen houses all of the latest appliances, including a washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Keen cooks can take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and the extendable dining table that comfortably seats six. A lounge area with two comfy sofas provides a place for relaxation, while the WiFi and large flat screen TV that’s fitted with Freeview and BluRay DVD will keep guests entertained. Bi-folding doors open out onto a peaceful patio with a view of the surrounding woodland. In summer months, the barbecue and outside dining area make this an idyllic spot for sunny afternoons and balmy evenings. Ribble Cottage has been awarded a 5 star rating by Visit England – the highest possible accolade for self catering accommodation.

PRICES ARE BASED ON 4 PEOPLE SHARING. An additional charge of £25.00 per person per night is payable for parties that exceed 4 people. Extra guests (up to two) can be accommodated on a small double sofa bed in the lounge.

We are sorry but we DO NOT ACCEPT PETS in any of our Holiday Cottages.

WHALLEY, United Kingdom

The Ribble Valley is the perfect place from which to explore the North West Coast. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are also close by with good train connections to London or Glasgow if you are keen to go further afield.

We are located close to Whalley, Lancashire in the small village of York served by a quaint local pub just 400 metres away. Shops and a post office can be found in Langho (another half mile away at the bottom of York Lane) and Whalley is a 5min drive or 25min walk down Whalley Nab where you will find shops, a deli, bakery, local pubs and restaurants.

The Market town of Clitheroe is just over five miles away, a short drive. Here you will find Clitheroe Castle along with many shops, supermarkets and a local open market.

Oakdean Cottages are the perfect place from which to enjoy special interest holidays.

There are four well respected Golf Courses close to us. Mitton Fold Golf Club is the nearest (0.9 miles), Whalley Golf Club (1.9 miles) Clitheroe Golf Club (3.9miles) and Wilpshire Golf Club (2.5miles). It's a golfers paradise! Booking and location details can be provided on request.

Much of our Ribble Valley location lies within The Forest of Bowland, an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are well placed for fishing breaks, with the River Loud, River Hodder and River Ribble all close by.

Wildlife and Bird Watching are also particularly popular with the Trough of Bowland and heather clad moors on our doorstep. Martin Mere, the WWF wetland in Burscough is also less than an hours drive away. Walking, cycling and mountain biking are all popular with our guests. As is horse riding, as we are close to the famous North Lancashire Bridleway which runs from Chipping to the edge of the Lake District. All can be organised for you, as can transport to take you anywhere you would like to go.
