The space

We acquired the property in Spring 2013. The house sits on a small cozy lot, located right on main street, and has the original attached barn. The Barton River runs through the backyard! The main house has been renovated with basic updates: clean and simple, utilitarian style.

Centrally located among all activities in the NEK...Skiing, Ice Skating/Ice Hockey/Curling, Snowmobiling, Hiking, Ice Fishing, Hunting, Mt Biking, Swimming, Golfing, an array of amazing Restaurants. 20 miles to CANADA!!

Entire house and property.

Historic CURRIERS General Store just 2 doors down. They have including a natural food section; beverages including large wine and beer selection; fresh produce; deli counter; bakery; hunting supplies; household supplies; electric and plumbing supplies; etc..
BUSY BEE DINER across the street...tiny space seating 10, serving amazing home-cooked breakfast and lunch.
RED SKY TRADING just 3 doors down...offers homemade jams and the most delicious homemade donuts and pastries, in addition to selling mid-century antiques. They make pies and cakes to order!

The neighbourhood

Glover is a VERY TINY village with 3 wonderful businesses. Currier's General Store always has most anything we need for the house and body, and is open till 9pm!! And Parker Pie up the hill in West Glover is a delicious and cozy "home away from home" when we don't want to cook, or when we want to share in watching a game on TV!! Everyone looks out for each other, and our house, especially when we are not there.

Getting around

No public tranportation

Other things to note

This is a very quiet and smallest of towns...but quite charming and most convenient.

The house is clean and there is plenty of space. Well equipped and family friendly. Good location. We went to a trip to Jay Peak (30 mins away) and 10 of us stayed in the house. Page keeps a good communication. All of us were pleased.

My family, cousins and I stayed at Page's place for our family reunion near Lake Willoughby. We enjoyed the location and loved that it was right next to the convenient store and Red Sky (the doughnuts and pie are delicious!). While we didn't spend much time hanging out at the house, we thought it was a nice spot that housed a lot of us. Because the furnishings and decor felt modern in comparison... one casual suggestion would be a refresh to the upstairs floorboards, which were a little creaky and a little less comfortable to walk around barefoot in (compared to some of the downstairs areas).

Had a great stay in the quaint little town of Glover. Don't miss the pizza at Parker Pies and beer from Hill Farmstead! We (6 adults and one toddler in our group) were very happy with our accommodations.

Staying at Heart of NEK was just as much fun this year as last! General store, reasonable distance from Jay Peak, and incredible nearby pizza/beer make this cozy house worth the trip. Highly recommended!
