Priority is given to guests interested in experiencing and connecting with the magic of living close to the Earth. We invite you to step into a small slice of paradise. A world far and away from stress and demands. Couples, small families, artists, writers, dancers and composers especially welcome for long term stays.

The space

Our cottage is situated amongst an ancient 300 y/o homestead and certified organic family owned dairy farm. The cottage is two levels with the master suit upstairs and overlooks the hills, woods and pond. The kitchen is rustic but well equipped for cooking. The lounging room has a well-functioning fireplace with a well stocked wood supply within easy reach. The cottage is tastefully and elegantly decorated while keeping the authenticity of its origin preserved. The market-sized vegetable garden is only a few steps from the door.

Guest access

Hiking through the pastures or on the trails, lounging by the pond, eating in the garden and cooking a meal on the outdoor grill are all welcomed activities. We are 7 km from a world famous cheese factory in the charming village of Livarot. The chateau de St. Germain Livet is a pleasant bike ride away and there are several farmer's markets that offer an abundance of local gormande spledors - Saturday morning in Lisieux and Monday morning in St. Pierre sur dive. In addition there are brocantes, car boot sales or flea markets in the local communities nearly every weekend all year round.

Interaction with guests

We are available to give certain lessons or demonstrations from cooking with local/homegrown and seasonal produce to horse whispering upon request, Please inquire. For more information, you can also find Les Costils on the web.

Other things to note

Please understand that we live where we work and because of the demands of the farm or projects that call on our full attention, we may not always be quick to respond to texts or emails. There are detailed directions to find the farm and if you arrive and do not see anyone, please allow yourselves into the cottage and make yourselves right at home! You are also welcome to come knock on the main house door at anytime!

A precious, incredibly cute cottage in a beautiful environment. Rebeka is a kind person and I only wish I'd had more time to spend there.

Rebeka is a wonderful host. During our stay at her place, we learned from her and her family members, including non human members, what authentic life is. The place is surrounded by a lot of nature. Our 12 month-old daughter enjoyed strolling around the place and playing Rebeka's friendly doggies. Although we had thought of some plans to visit some towns and villages in the area, we ended up spending most of our time ( we stayed there for 8 days) at her beautiful and natural place. If you love authentic life, nature and tranquillity, I highly recommend you to stay at her place.

Great place in a great location we arrived late but we feld welcomed there was water in the fridge and jam, butter and homemade muffins for the next morning. This is truly a perfect place to stay if you like nature, peace and quietness

This is an absolute " must" for people who love a quiet, remote and very romantic place to stay. Your host is the most lovely person and the cottage truely is a Writer's Dream! We have spent a week there and were very sad that we had to go back...

Rebeka User ProfileRebeka is a superhost.

It is my wish that the property I share to be an expression of the beauty and inspiration I seek in all things. My husband and I would like to invite those interested in experiencing the healing and nourishing benefits of our land to come and participate: To breathe the fresh air, listen to the birds, the gentle stream, stroke the friendly dogs, cats, horses, cows or goats, walk though the fields or the woods, taste the wild berries, ancient apples, fresh milk, honey . . . Workshops are available on request.
