A lovely old Andalucian house in the Arabic quarter of the ancient spa town of Alhama de Granada. House has 3 good sized double bedrooms with balconies. Two bathrooms, modern kitchen, living room & private jacuzzi. Roof terrace with fantastic views. Tourist number - Vivienda Touristica de Alojamiento Rural CTC(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).
The house has been beautifully renovated by craftsmen, using locally hand made terracotta tiles, wooden shutters and other sympathetic materials. There is also a wood burning stove for those chilly winter evenings. There is plentiful on-street parking outside close to the house. The water temperature in the jacuzzi can be easily adjusted and thus used all year round.
Guests have exclusive use of the house, terrace and jacuzzi
Interaction with guests
We live in this town so we love to offer our local knowledge on the best places to visit, the best times to catch local fiestas, our local food shops and of course favourite bars.
Other things to note
Local Cuisine - In Alhama de Granada there is still a tradition of offering a tapas free with every drink (alcoholic or soft drink). This is a wonderful way to sample much of the local cuisine. You are served whatever is in season and fresh, typically: prawns, local stew, calamari, all types of fish, roast peppers, chorizo, setas (field mushrooms), chicken, aubergine, ham, cheese, olives ... if you are a little hungrier you can always order a plate or half plate of any of the tapas. During the week a number of the bars offer 'Menu del Dia' - a set menu with a choice of three things on each course. Includes starter, main, sweet, bread, salad and a drink for 8-10 euros per person.
Two night minimum stay. Non smoking house. Pets allowed. Please no glasses or bottles in the jacuzzi.

My wife and I are from the UK originally, we retired a couple of years ago. We have 3 grown up kids, one is working in London and two are working in Leeds. Since retirement we spend a lot more time in this part of Andalucia, our Spanish is improving (slowly) and we are certainly getting to know the area even better. It is a delight to be here. We tend to take a big trip at least once a year, either inside Spain (Seville, Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Cordoba) or elsewhere in the world. When we travel we seek out small boutique places or apartment/home rentals.
