Our large family home is situated in a very quiet residential part of Kirkwall so you can be assured of a restful sleep. We are a 5 - 10 minute walk from the town centre with it's unique local shops and cafes, St Magnus Cathedral, Earl's Palace and Museum. For the whisky lovers we are a short walk from the famous Highland Park Distillery . We are a 5 minute walk from the new Balfour Hospital and Health Centre complex. We love meeting people and welcome guests from all backgrounds into our home.

The space
Here we offer a bright and spacious double room situated upstairs and separate from our living areas. The bathroom is not en-suite but is just across the landing directly opposite your room.
**We also have a second room, but have decided to automatically block it when someone books this room so that you’ll have sole use of the bathroom. Unless you are looking to book both rooms for a larger group, please ask should you be interested in the second room**
We offer a basic ‘Welcome’ breakfast and our guests are loving it! It typically includes fresh bread (there is a kettle and toaster in each room) with a choice of condiments, Orkney cheese, a choice of cereals with Orkney milk and apple / orange juice. There is a selection of tea, coffee, fruit teas and hot chocolate! If you have any special dietary requirements please advise at time of booking and we will do our utmost to accomodate you I.e gluten free bread.
You will find spare towels in the unit on the landing with extra bedding and a blanket in the large wardrobe in your room. There is an ironing board and iron provided.
Due to work commitments, we may not be around for much of your stay, but where possible, we aim to be here to greet you on your arrival and to say cheerio on your departure.

You will have access to a large shared bathroom with a bath and shower - guests have sole use of this as we use a separate bathroom downstairs.
We have 2 rooms available for guests. They are across the landing from each other with the Breakfast area in between.
Shed available in the garden to store bikes and hiking gear etc.

During your stay
We believe in giving guests space but we are very approachable when we are at home, which varies due to work commitments.

Other things to note
We have a very friendly cat who may take the opportunity of an open room door to come and visit you, Jaffa is just being nosey and checking to see if you have Dreamies (cat treats) for him! Please inform us and we will gently evict him from your room.
