"Adelaar" is a beautiful Dutch barge, originally built in 1906 but updated and modernised. She is located on the foreshore of the beautiful River Orwell in Suffolk, 5 minutes walk from the riverside village of Pin Mill. She is in an absolutely stunning location - this is not a place for party people, but is tranquil, atmospheric and scenic. You don't need to be a sailor - she only floats for a few hours every month, and even then the water is only a couple of foot deep !

The space
Adelaar is a static houseboat on the saltings at the edge of the beautiful River Orwell in Suffolk. She is on her own - no neighbours ! Pin Mill, with its historic Butt and Oyster pub, is only 5 - 10 minutes walk via a footpath along the riverbank.

Adelaar is Covid-19 safe. You have the boat all to yourself - it is in a secluded location, and the footpaths around the boat are not busy. The boat will have been thoroughly cleaned before you arrive.

Adelaar is on its own - that's the charm ! There is no marina and no neighbours - just peace and quiet. There is a cockpit for relaxing, and a patio on the old wooden barge that Adelaar is moored alongside. There is a pub 5 minutes walk away at Pin Mill - the historic Butt and Oyster, which does great food.

This is a beautiful rural area, with great walks, some excellent pubs and some good restaurants nearby. It is fantastic for birdwatchers, being right on the river.
