The space
Welcome to our lake house-- we're so happy to share it with you! We hope you have a wonderful vacation, and please let us know if you have any questions about the house or the area. Susan was born and raised here (graduated from Bellaire High) and can share with you not only the amazing summer fun, but also the stunning autumn season, the beautiful winter activities that you can enjoy, and the spring melt too... (Shanty Creek Slush Cup anyone?) So please don't hesitate with any questions!

A bit more detail about the house itself:

This is a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home on two levels (Master bedroom with Master bathroom upstairs, and all other rooms downstairs). The vast majority of the home has been recently remodeled-- the kitchen, dining room, downstairs bathroom, and laundry room have all seen a makeover, with more updates coming soon.

Location

Bellaire, Michigan, United States

Located right on Torch Lake near the mouth of Clam River, we are only a 5-min ride (by boat, jet ski or car) or a 10-min walk to the famous Dockside, where you can get delicious sandwiches, burgers, drinks, and more, and can tie up your boat at the dock while you eat.

Just 1 minute further is Butch's Tackle and Marine, which has delicious Broasted Chicken and salads for take-out, and also has a boat-gas dock and a great inventory of water rentals and gear for your lakeside fun. Just a bit further past the Clam River Bridge is Dewitt Marine (formerly owned by my dad and uncle!) which has a great boat service and sales department, gas, and also does water rentals. All of these are only 5-min away from the house-- very convenient.

We are also just 5 miles (less than 10-min drive) to Bellaire (to the North) and 5 miles also to Alden (to the South). Bellaire is home to a great grocery store, pharmacy, and many dine-in and take-out options, including Toonies, Moka's, the Dairy Twist, the Lunch Box, and for a more elegant option, Shanty Creek Resort.

And of course I cannot forget Bellaire's main draw for any who love delicious beer...Short's Brewing Company, located right on Main St with yummy brews, a great atmosphere, and a delicious food menu, too!

Alden is home to the Higgins Store, which features the most delicious hand scooped ice cream you have ever tasted. (My mouth waters just thinking about it.) There are also many cute little eateries in Alden, a Thursday evening Jazz stroll, the great Alden Bar, and another grocery and gas station. Again, all within 5 miles of our lake house!

We are also just 30 minutes from the new Meijer's in Williamsburg (on the outskirts of Traverse City), and about 30 miles (~40 minutes) to Traverse City itself. Traverse City has blossomed and is home to so many amazing events and places and festivals I can barely list them all!

Cherry Festival: Known as the "Cherry Capital of the World", Traverse is known for its annual Cherry Festival occurring the week after the Fourth of July (approximately) each year. With parades, outdoor movies in the open space, contests, a midway of rides, and more, this week-long event is a must for cherry lovers.
