Owners: Cynthia and Alex Stone
Cynthia is a former Penland resident artist, jewelry artist and interior designer. Alex is an award winning architect. We loved the area so much that we built Hawks View after my residence in 2001. We have one daughter (age 14) who is an avid rock climber. She loves to climb the the big 500 ft walls in nearby Linville Gorge as well as compete in sport climbing events across the nation. We visit Hawks View often and are continually making improvements and additions.
We are NEW to Airbnb but not new to renting Hawks View which we have been doing since 2009 on several other online rental sites by owner. We have over 175 five stars ratings on these sites. Here are just a few of our guest's recent comments.
The views from the cabin are spectacular and the warm, creative vibe inside the Hawks View made me feel both at home and inspired. The cabin has a well equipped kitchen, a great movie selection, and books and games galore. In addition I had a super comfy bed, luscious bath towels, beautiful art, and a sweet wood stove made the stay perfect. Simply put I was not left wanting anything during my stay. I would recommend Hawks View to anyone looking for a getaway in the the mountains of North Carolina.
"Just book it!"
This place is fantastic. We have very high standards and this place was exactly what we were looking for. The view is unreal. I could sit on the porch and read all weekend. The cabin is rustic and modern at the same time. It is very well equipped with anything you could ever need. There is a really nice grocery store about 7 miles away so you can pick up all your supplies once you get there. It's very secluded and private.
"Peace on a hillside"
Hawk's View feels like coming home. It is peace on a hillside... warm, inviting, comfortable and safe. The views are ever changing.... whether it is fog rolling over the mountains, sunlight glistening off the last few leaves, or the sun disappearing behind the peaks... beauty abounds.
Hawk's View is our go-to spot for refreshment, rejuvenation and peace.
We were so happy with our choice. Driving up the mountain we were hoping to have a great view of the mountains. Our wish came through ten fold. The photographs of the view do not depict the actual beauty of the vista when you experience it first hand. The cottage is warm and inviting. It is filled with whimsical art work that you discover over the course of your stay. As others have stated the home is well stocked with everything you could possibly need.
Magical and Majestic
e have stayed at quite a few places over the years. This may be our favorite. The views are magical. The cabin is uniquely decorated. No details missed in preparing for guests. So much to do, but we never wanted to leave the covered porch
