Immaculate 1 bedroom 1 bath in separate private dwelling with full size bed situated on 15 private wooded acres on rural unpaved road (dirt cow path actually) less than a mile from Omega Institute and about 6 miles from Rhinebeck proper. Walk to Omega. Bike to Rhinebeck.
We have a pleasantly private rural setting convenient to the Taconic State Parkway and route nine, as well as train facilities in Rhinecliff and Poughkeepsie. Omega Institute, a holistic campus, is within walking distance. The village of Rhinebeck is within 6 miles and has an abundance of quality eating establishments and nightlife facilities. We are surrounded by many horseback riding facilities and are also convenient to the wine trail. Bard College, within 7 miles, offers theater and music venues. The Bardavon in Poughkeepsie too has excellent music as does the Falcon in Marlboro, New York. Historic Hyde Park is but 15 minutes away. The Rhinebeck aerodrome seems to be known by many throughout the world and in the summer Rhinebeck hosts the Dutchess County Fair, a reasonably well-known agricultural oriented activity. Throughout the year at the fairgrounds are craft fairs, wine pairings, car shows and innumerable other events.
The room itself, though not spacious is more than adequate for one: or two individuals who enjoy each others company and are willing to share a bed. Pets and children would not be desirable.
Linens and parking are included. Toiletries are available on a limited basis if you have forgotten something. Television doesn't exist. But wifi appears to have been established in both the bedroom and the gazebo (though AT&T users appear to have a bit of difficulty). The grounds are, baring the house, decks, and oversized shed, available for use including the gazebo with furnishings, lawn chairs, hammock, tree swing, walking paths, A (singular) 5(?) speed bicycle.
Interaction with guests
We are always available if something is required simply by calling my wife's cell phone, the number of which is provided upon arrival, or knocking on the house door if someone is home. If for some reason we are away during your stay we employ a management company which handles EMERGENCIES for us. You simply call us via Karen's provided number and we contact them. They do stop in periodically when we are away ( they stop in when we're here too). To date, we have not had any problems requiring their services.
Other things to note
Though comfortable, the room (with full private bath - shower not tub) is not excessively large. We feel it is ample for one or two individuals willing to share a bed. We do not believe it is either pet or child friendly. The grounds, lawn furniture, gazebo , etc are available for your use but the main house and decks are considered private. At present we have one 5 speed bike available for use with the proviso that if you use it don't get yourself injured, you are NOT covered for medical expenses. There is NO A/C , refrigerator, or coffee machine. There are plenty of screened windows and a 3 speed ceiling fan. These appear to have been adequate thus far. Karen is entertaining the idea of providing a carafe of coffee in the gazebo upon request If We Are Home during your stay. Oft-times we visit our children regardless of guests arrival as we have already made plans before accepting a guest. We generally inform a potential guest of this possibility so you realize we will not be physically available. We are always available through text, phone, or Internet and have a friend who we can contact in an emergency.
Extra blankets are in the bottom dresser draw as are spare linens for extended stays.
There is a built in cabinet in the bathroom with extra toilet paper, paper towels, towels etc.
We do not allow smoking in the room, but ashtrays are in the gazebo for those of us when cannot or do not want to abstain.
We generally find it convenient to expect our guests to treat our property as they would like their property to be treated. Pretty simple. Turn off or down heat units when out as the unit holds heat well. Fan on low when out is ample to circulate air in an empty room. The exterior lights are automatic but for the light by the entrance. If you are returning after dark, definitely leave this light on for your safe return.

Old construction worker happily married 35yrs to the same not quite as old and still very attractive woman. Paying off college for two (wonderful?) children (one of each) who have finally graduated college and have NOT moved back home but instead to NYC where we periodically visit them. Probably working (though a bit slower) until the day i die and loving it?
