Description

The space

In about 16 km. from the city of Chania-Crete, there is a fully equiped appartment (A/C, TV, Wi-Fi, central heating),available all year, with 1 bedroom, bathroom and kitchen with sitting room with sofa-bed for an extra person. It has a wonderfull view to the "white mountains"(Omalos) and is only 7 km from the beach Platanias and Stalos. The beach of Platanias is a large sandy is organised all along its length, with sun loungers and umbrellas.Stalos beach is also a very long and sandy beach with a tourist-aimed waterfront. In fact, Stalos beach extends for so long that if you prefer some tranquility, there are areas that don't get so crowded. If you want to explore the whole island i would recommend to rent a car.The apartment is located in a very quiet area so if you need a quite place close to nature in a friendly enviroment we are sure you 'll come to the right place!!!If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me.

You ask me to describe our "experience" at Hawk Hill and I must emphasize that staying here is an Experience. A really nice one. The location cannot be adequately described. Each morning we watched the sun rise over the valley while being serenaded by goat bells and roosters greeting each other. Or church bells on Sunday. The apartment was very comfortable and we had everything we could possibly need. Marina and Theo are the most warm, welcoming and accommodating hosts we have ever met. Our visit will be remembered.

Thank you Sofia and Theo for a great stay. The location of the house is very convenient for visiting Chania and the surrounding beaches. The view is also amazing! Thank you for making us feel very welcome in your house, and for the added touches like local fruits and home made jam! We highly recommend and would visit again.

One of the best Airbnb experiences! Sofia and Teo were really nice and helpful. The fridge was filled with bread, jam, oranges... They even had a special tea to try and a lot of more of little and thoughtful details. Furthermore the place was really clean and the view towards the mountains is quite pleasant and calming. The area is quiet and more rural, nevertheless it takes only around 25 Minutes to reach the bigger city of Chania. We would always choose this place again and would recommend staying there.

Best AirBnb ever!! Sofia's home and hospitality was unparalleled. The flat was clean, very homely and full of little attentions (look in the fridge!). She is a lovely person who made us feel at home straight and was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Crete :) home to go back soon, I miss the dogs already!

This was one of the best holidays I've ever had! Sofia & Teo are very hospitable and cannot do enough for you. The house is really nice with amazing views over the White Mountains. It is a little difficult to find but Sofia even came down to the village to meet me at 11.30 at night) to show me the way! Very quiet and peaceful area, but just 20 mins or so the main National Road, Chania, and the beaches of Platania and Stalos. The pictures do not do the place justice, as it is even nicer than it looks on these photos. Very clean and tidy, the kitchen is equipped with everything you might need (incl microwave, cooker, fridge and freezer, juicer and every utensil you will need!) Sofia even stocked the kitchen with a range of Cretan foodstuffs: honey, mountain tea, Greek yoghurt, home made jam (I had orange marmalade and plum jam), dozens of oranges, a huge watermelon half, and even a small bottle of raki! Plus cereal and bread. I did not need to buy any breakfast stuff at all! I stayed a week on holiday and can thoroughly recommend the house to anyone. You will need to hire a car due to the location but then I recommend this in order to see as much of Crete as you can anyway!

From the outset, Sofia and Teo were really helpful. They suggested lovely places to visit on our journey to the apartment from Heraklion and Teo met us in the nearby village and guided us to the apartment. The apartment itself is wonderful! It's in amongst the olive and orange groves with incredible views. Inside it is very spacious and homely kitted out with everything one could need. Sofia and Teo were incredibly generous and left a feast of local produce including delicious preserves and oil. There is plenty to do around the apartment including the Manousakis Winery and the Cretan Botanical Gardens. The Samaria Gorge and Chania are a short drive away. When in Chania, be sure to visit the gallery and gift shop, Mitos, where Sofya works.

This place is amazing. Sofia and Theo are two of the most friendliest people. Upon arrival we were greeted with fresh food in the kitchen, local honey, jam and much more. The house is really nice. it features a good sized living room, bedroom, bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The attention to detail is high and you feel right at home. The high ceilings give it a very spacious feel. It is very clean and all the towels and bedsheets have a lovely flowerly scent. The location could not be better. It's the last house on the hill overlooking a beautiful valley with olive and orange trees. The house stays cool even in the heat and is very peaceful. The place is about 12 km from Chania which makes for good connections via road. We really enjoyed our stay and even stayed an extra day. Sofia and Theo are two very sweet and generous persons that give this place something extra. I would recommend anyone to go here.
