All about Suzanne’s place

Well-appointed studio with 180 degree view of orchards and mountains in the middle of a working mandarin farm. Mandarins are seasonal in the spring. The cottage is walking distance to Wahtoke Creek and the Kings River. Walk to Starbucks thru the country avenues and along the river. Beautiful private park picnic area on the oak studded Wahtoke Creek. Unit is surrounded by mandarin orchard and French wine vines. Walking and jogging trails along the Kings River. Central Heat and Air Conditioning.

The space
Our land has unique topography which lends itself to walking and jogging all year round. We enjoy summer breezes possibly due to our proximity to the river and being on a bluff. Unlike many farms, we are located on a creek and so there are many beautiful enclaves for picnics or just reading a book under a beautiful Valley Oak. Walk to the river during the summer and view livestock along the way by the college or admire a field of onions or pomegranates or peach’s or just a beautiful meadow.

We moved to the country right before the birth of our fourth son. Our daughter, the oldest, was five and started kindergarten that same year. We have enjoyed many many meals with family and friends starting from the first month we moved to the country. We love the outdoors and never tire of meals under the pergola or in the park or on a covered porch shelter from the rain. We have played croquet, volley ball, spike ball, ultimate frisbee etc etc etc!!! Everyone had chores on the farm. We learned to work our land and the difficulties associated with farming life. As with all things there is the silver lining that comes with the learning curve and that has been the joy of harvest time. We are always grateful!!! We love taking walks and did it as often as possible especially when the kids were little. The jogging stroller was finally retired after my oldest son, Soren, made it into a cart for hauling things that young boys find fascinating!!! Located along the famous Blossom Trail in the “Fruit Basket of The World”, enjoy the freshest fruits you have ever tasted. I hope you will enjoy your time visiting our favorite place in the world!!
