We enjoyed Christine's place. We were a little thrown off by the one bathroom when the listing says "master bedroom," which typically means an attached bathroom - but understandable because it is NYC. Christine did have other guests staying at her place while we were there, again just something that slightly threw us off because we all had to share one teeny bathroom - didn't end up being much of an issue, though. She did enter our room multiple times without our knowledge/without us being there - this was the biggest issue we had. Overall a nice bedroom with a comfy bed, area is spacious enough for two people.

Response from Christine:
Monisha, I'm sorry you did not really enjoy your stay. I did offer you a return on your money if you would like to shift housing and you said you preferred to stay at my home. There is not much I can do about the bathroom, as there is only one, as I have listed. As for entering the room, I only did so when the door was open to turn off the AC that was left on.

Our stay at Christines place was really comfortable and easy. She is a very nice host and always helpful. She gave us so many useful tips. The apartment is very charming. The room is directly at the Amsterdam avenue, so sometimes it can get loud. It was easy to reach everything. We would definitely come back to her. :)

Very nice and helpful Host; Christine is smiling all the time and ready to answer to any queries to give suggestions and advices we felt home and sorry to leave after 5 nights we highly recommend her place...buses subway direct lines to uptown and downtown. The only problem was the noisy Street from the room but it was ok since I woke up early anyway..less noisy on Saturday and Sunday morning. We will come back.

This is a nice place to stay in NY considering the cost and value you get from it. I guess certain travelers might feel a little uncomfortable by the fact that you need to cross a hall and another room in order to get to the offered place. However, Christine's personality and willingness to communicate, help in anything needed is certainly appreciated. Plus, the place is pretty well located next to subway stations, great kabab and a marvelous "Silver moon bakery" (try the almond croissant).

Very friendly and helpful. My flight got delayed a lot but Christine was very flexible and understanding. The location is very good, close to the subway. Very cozy and clean room and bathroom. Great experience overall.

I am a Ph.D. student at Columbia University writing my dissertation on yoga and religious politics in India. Because of my work, I am lucky to be able to travel a lot. Over the past year I have been in London, Paris, India, Nepal, and Lebanon, but no place has my heart like this city. While I love reading, writing, and practicing yoga, I also need serious down time so admittedly I love to binge watch meaningless TV like Scandal and Law and Order. Oh, I also have somewhat of an addiction to Dubsmash (no judgement). I don't have any pets at the moment, but I adore animals. Sometimes I foster dogs and cats, but unfortunately I don't see that happening in the next few months.

I love hosting in *this* city because of all the cities I have been to, none have the spirit of New York. I love helping people find the best places to eat, the joys of the city: from the highline to absolute bagels. I look forward to hosting you!
