Some info has been automatically translated.
Old Farm is a traditional stone-built Somerset farm house, built in the 1580's, set in a quiet village, less than 5 minutes' walk to the village pub.

10 miles to Bath & West Show Ground and 8 miles to Wells Which? described Wells as a “compact but perfectly formed gem.”

We are also within 3-4 miles of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a great area for walks, cycling and traditional pubs.

Please look at our Guide Book to see some great attractions and venues in the area

The space
The B&B has a private entrance and is the majority of the original house built around 1586 and is separated from the private part of the building built in the 1790's, by locked doors.

Full fibre broadband has been installed to our village, which means we now have fast broadband usually at least 100mbs.

On the ground floor the sitting / breakfast room has a large Inglenook fireplace, some natural stone walls and a stone fire space which could be a hazard to young children. We added kitchenette units with a sink, electric oven, including a grill together with a hob, in May 2021.

There are two sets of spiral stairs to the bathroom and two advertised bedrooms, both of which are really large and airy. There is a third bedroom with a single bed available on request.

As an old property, Old Farm has plenty of character and interesting features, but the stairs are likely to be difficult for adults with limited mobility and a hazard for very young children.

Upstairs the B&B is separated from the private part of the building by a locked door, so your privacy is assured.

A breakfast "Welcome Pack" is provided including tea, coffee, milk, a choice of cereals, handmade bread, often homemade, and homemade preserves. In 2008 my Seville Orange Marmalade was judged Best of the Best at the World's Original Marmalade Festival.

Guest access
There is plenty of off road parking for two cars, please contact us if you are bringing any form of trailer or need EV charging. We can also make locked storage available for bicycles etc, but please let us know in advance so that we can make sure adequate space is made available when you arrive .

The EV charging point is a standard domestic socket within 10 feet of a convenient place to park.

Other things to note
I am a Preserves Tutor and WI Preserves Judge. I offer guests Preserves Workshops.

Spend a morning learning how to make traditional Marmalades, Jams or Chutneys. The charge will be £50 per person with a minimum of 2 people, but please contact me to discuss your requirements.

The following commercial local attractions are also nearby: Bath & West Showground, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Festival Site, Kilver Court Designer Village and the Mulberry Factory Shop.
