House with room for 10 people on the shore of Muonio river, way above arctic circle. Modern amenities, fireplaces, sauna and services only 10km away in Karesuvanto make you comfortable and let you concentrate on the breath taking nature of Lapland.

The space

The area of the house is ca. 115m2 and the house has three bedrooms, living room, library room, kitchen, sauna and two bathrooms. There are 6 beds, a two person sofa bed and two steel frame extra beds, so we can house up to 10 people.

The house is located just next to one of the best salmon fishing spots in the Muonio river. The Jatuni village is surrounded at all sides by marshes that invite you to embrace the wild and wonderful Lapland's nature.

Ice fishing equipment is provided by the house as well as pulkas for children to ride down the river bank.

There is also a lean-to maintained by the village nearby, and right at the shore of the Muonio river, there is a tepee owned by the house where guests can keep fire even all through the night, if you so wish.

In the winter time, the terrains are ideally suited for snow mobile trips and snow mobiles can be rented from Karesuanto. If requested, a rented snow mobile can even be delivered to the house, ready for your enjoyment.
Just across the Muonio river, there is a famous snow mobile route Viktorialeden that continues all the way up to Kilpisjärvi.

Northern lights (Aurora Borealis) can be seen three out of every four nights.

The nearest ski centre is just a 100km drive away; the same distance to the north there lies Kilpisjärvi along with it's famous Saana fell.

The fireplace of the house is decorated by a local artist with a giants face with respects the myth of Jatuni, the village of the giant.

Great placement, some heaters and the WiFi didn't work and we couldn't lock the house, but the cabin is great, good bedrooms and full equipped kitchen. The sauna was awesome.

Communication was excellent, a few minor issues with the back door not locking and no toilet paper on arrival but great secluded location for a real Lapland experience

The house is perfect for a getaway in arctic Lapland. Communication with Kalle was flawless, it was always easy to reach him and he was very helpful. Check-in was simple, though be sure to always take the key with you because the door can lock itself when being closed from the outside! Some of the dishes and cutlery weren't the cleanest, and there was a weird smell in one of the toilets. Nothing that takes away from the great experience and a very cozy house. You can easily cram four persons into the tiny sauna (if you're not shy), and the fireplace makes for a homely feeling on the (very) long evenings.

Kalle is nicest host! Even though he doesn't live in the area he made sure that we were welcomed by a next door neighbor who helped us settle in. In case of questions he answered almost immediately and always found a solution! The house is great, enough room for everyone and you'll find everything you need. We loved our bonfire in the tipi !:) The area is absolutely beautiful and there are so many fun things to do! I would highly recommend Kalle's house and would stay there again anytime :)

Everything was fine! The host was really helpful, flexible (we changed our dates and even shorten our stay for few days) and prompt answering all our emails (unfortunately we never met Kalle). If you are looking for a house with no neighbours and no noise than I strongly recommend the house. The location couldn't be better - the view to to river was just amazing. The kitchen is fully equipped with all necessities, also, a washing machine and dryer may be of use if you are staying for a longer period (like we did). The only downside is the lack of cleanliness, something that can be fixed easily :) However, we had a good time in Enontekiö and enjoyed our stay at Kalles house. Thank you!

We spent a wonderful week in Kalle's house - a great location at the riverside with plenty of activities for us and our kids: icefishing (special thanks to Kalle's uncle for the equipment and advice for best spots), sleigh rides on the river bank, building snowcastles... The house was pre-heated, cosy, and very well equiped. Cooking was a pleasure, as well as the nightly sauna. We enjoyed the husky-tour (45 min away), and made a trip to the Norwegian Ice Sea. Very impressive. No need to go to a reeindeer farm, there were plenty on the road. And, we were lucky to see the polar lights, a truly magic moment. Communication was always prompt and helpful. Thank you so much, Kalle, for hosting us - we would love to come back!

Hi, we didn't see Kalle during our stay but we had a great time there. He responded promptly to my messages and was very helpful. The view from his house is beautiful and we saw the Northern Lights just outside his house! The kitchen works well, we cooked all 4 nights. The house is cozy and warm too. We enjoyed walks outside the house towards the frozen lakes and teepee. The sunset was beautiful too. We also went to Karesuando Sweden which was only 15 mins drive away across the bridge and had lunch there (not expensive). The only downside to this house was the very strong rusty smell of the water from the taps and shower. We didn't mind it very much though, cos we were having too much fun. I am sure this problem can be fixed easily though! Fortunately the color of the water was clear, not brown in color. The heaters also worked well, we had more than enough warm water for everyone to bathe. Overall, my friends and I enjoyed ourselves very much here!
