Description

The space

Welcome to my home in the heart of the lovely village of Sutton. The house was built in 1916 with hardwood floors, high ceilings and large windows.
There is a sitting room for guests and a lovely wrap-around porch plus large garden with hammocks.
The house is a 2 minute walk to the village boutiques and restaurants and there are all sorts of outdoor activities nearby including hiking, biking and skiing.

Guest access

There is a living room for our guests and, in summer, the porch and garden.
There is fridge space available for guests but no use of the kitchen for cooking (unless renting the entire house) however a substantial breakfast is included and there is a good choice of cafés and restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner.
There is a high speed wi-fi network but no television.
A large secure garage is attached to the house for guests' bicycles or ski equipment.

Interaction with guests

The house is my home so if you rent the room my boyfriend and I will be here and almost certainly other guests too..
We love meeting people and giving them help, advice and information to ensure they enjoy their time in the area.

The neighbourhood

Sutton is a really interesting little Québecois village. The rue Principale has a great selection of restaurants and some excellent food stores. You can browse the boutiques and visit art galleries. A short drive will take you to vineyards, nordic spas and quaint villages.
In summer and fall there are wonderful hiking trails, cycling, golf and calm water kayaking
In winter there is downhill and cross country skiing and snow shoeing.

Getting around

Limocar provides a daily bus service between Montreal and Sutton but there is no public transportation in the village. There is off street parking behind the house which is a 2 minute walk to the main street with its boutiques and restaurants.
In the summer you can rent a bike. In the winter there is a shuttle service at weekends to the ski hill.

Other things to note

Please note that if you want to stay for a Saturday night that there is a 2 night minimum reservation ie Friday AND Saturday or Saturday AND Sunday.

Our stay at our B&B in Sutton was amazing. Our hosts Lynda and Jay were very welcoming and very helpful when we were looking for local information. The Inn itself is beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast was delicious and the service impeccable. Overall we would highly recommend this location. Rachel and Paul.

We had a fantastic time at the Vert le Mont B&B!! The house was absolutely lovely, I loved the wrap around porch where we had our breakfast (excellent pain doré, compote maison and jam by the way! Thanks again Lynda), the room was super nice and clean, and really comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom. All around exactly what we were looking for! Sutton is also a really quaint town with lots of new restaurants and a new brewery by the river, which we loved. Highly recommend staying here! Lynda also had great suggestions for restaurants and the wine route.

Lynda a été très charmante et avenante, on voie qu'elle a cette passion pour les gens. L'endroit est très calme, tout près du village. Le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse est été un pur délice. merci Lynda!

I am English but came to Sutton 12 years ago for a ski trip and never left. I have had the great fortune to travel the world for both work and pleasure and you will see many of my treasures here in my Sutton home which is also Vert Le Mont B&B. During the 12 years that I have welcomed people to my home, many of the guests have become my friends - I hope you will too.

I just love Sutton and the Eastern Townships and I look forward to sharing my favourite restaurants, hiking trails and insider tips with you.

I travel regularly with my boyfriend Jay - we like to backpack and just plan our trip as we go. We usually stay in hostels and Jay has done a lot of couch surfing. We like to think that we are considerate guests as we know what it is like to host people! Neither of us smoke, Jay is good at cleaning and I can cook!
