Our Juliette balcony in our upstairs living room is the perfect place to relax, unwind and admire the beautiful view of Beinn Mhor and Loch Eynort. It provides the ideal place for spotting our local wildlife such as otters, golden eagles, white tailed sea eagles, seals and red deer. Just sit back and watch the tide rise and fall.

The space
The Stone House was originally a thatched house and it has been lovingly renovated over the years. A previous owner increased the height of the walls by bringing in stones by boat which he had collected from the shore.

The open plan living room with a stove and kitchen are on the first floor. We have one standard double room and a second small double room on the ground floor along with the bathroom.

Outside in the garage is a separate toilet and shower for cleaning any outdoor gear. We have ample storage for bikes in the garage.

We offer Friday to Friday lets, occasionally this can be altered so please get in touch.

Where you’ll be

Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Scotland, United Kingdom

Loch Eynort is ideally situated in a central location between both the East and West side of the island. This allows access to the rugged East coast and the stunning beaches and Machair of the West coast.
Just a mile along the road, to the North end of Loch Eynort are a few wee trails, ideal for walking and spotting an abundance of wildlife such as red deer, otters, seals and eagles.

If you head in the opposite direction, a mile west of the house you come to South Uist machair and its beautiful beaches. Perhaps, hop on one of our bikes and head to the beach for the day or explore the single track back roads of the middle district. Take in the culture and watch the traditional crofting techniques still used in Uist today. This area has more Gaelic speakers then anywhere else in the world.

Living in South Uist gives me the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and the wonderful scenery on my doorstep. Myself and my young daughter go for a walk to the beach most days, even in winter and we nearly always have the place to ourselves, only sharing it with the local wildlife.
