The space
The room for our guests, of which we also enclose a map, is small (3 x 2.60 m) but cozy, comfortable and quiet. There are: a single bed, with two back cushions that can transform it into a comfortable sofa during the day; a desk with a chair, a wardrobe, two shelves. The room leads directly to a small bathroom, for exclusive use, with shower, sink, bidet, toilet.
It is an environment suitable for one person only.
The house is large and well furnished, equipped with wi-fi and independent heating system. My wife and I live in other rooms, including the studio where I spend most of my days working on the computer alone, while Silvia in the morning teaches in a middle school near home. In the summer we are more often outside Rome.
The spaces are therefore respectful of our privacy and that of the guests. Breakfast can be served in the kitchen or in the dining room, at times to be agreed.

The rate includes:
- accommodation and breakfast
- sheets and towels
- Wifi connection
Other services can be arranged for a fee.

Other things to note
These are the distances from the various means of transport:
- 400 m from the bus line 913 directed to the center, which runs on average every five minutes and reaches the underground line A in 5-10 minutes (4 stops)
- 150 m from the 990 bus line, also direct to the center and the A line of the subway but with a slightly longer journey.
- 500 m from the Roma Balduina stop of the Rome-Viterbo metropolitan train, with passages every 15 m., Connected with the underground lines A, B and with the train to the Fiumicino airport.
- 2000 m from the Cipro station of the subway line
A, which can therefore be reached on foot in 20 minutes.
- 2500 m from the entrance to the Vatican Museums.
- 300 m from the commercial area of the district with supermarkets, grocery market and all kinds of shops. Cafes, restaurants and various small shops are also located in the immediate vicinity of our house.

For those coming from Fiumicino Airport it is advisable to take the train from the airport to the Trastevere station and from there the train (direction Cesano-Viterbo) to Roma Balduina (5 stops).

My name is Marco. I was born in Rome in 1958. I'm archaeologist, adjunct university professor, member of an italian archaeological mission in Libya, Cyprus and Palestina (in the photo I'm in a Libyan bar), expert about ancient architecture, survey and 3d reconstruction. I've written four books about these subjects as well as numerous articles in various scientific journals. I have created a website about archaeological survey and ancient architecture, containing hundreds of pages and images freely downloadable. Nevertheless sport, traveling, hiking have always been very important in my life. I'm vice-president of a Rowing Club in Rome, rowing trainer and I took part in the agonistic regattas of Federazione Italiana di Canottaggio. I move regularly by bicycle. I'm great lover and connoisseur of the Abruzzo where I hiking, biking and skiing from over twentyfive years. Since some years I like renting and sharing my family's homes, assisted in this activity by my wife Silvia, who is an architect and teaches technology in middle school, and my daughter Livia who graduated in Modern Literature this year with a thesis on the feminist spiritual movement. We like to host in our homes and be hosted in the homes of people living in other places in the world. It is a way of getting to know the most different people, of exchanging experiences, of broadening our horizons. We have always considered that the best way to know the world when traveling is to live in the homes of private citizens, sharing their daily life, not in anonymous hotels that are the same in every place. My wife and I have been faithful to this formula for almost thirty years, starting with our first trips across Europe by car, when internet did not exist, we were looking for B&B going around the city and looking at the signs on the doors of the houses. We started as guests, with the passing of the years we delighted transforming ourselves into hosts.
