Small, comfy 2BR, 1 Bath house in East Austin. Home to an artist and a student, on a quiet dead end street. Close to bus and train stops, with wifi and a big back yard and fire pit. Approx. 3 miles from downtown, and even closer to East 6th street.
Our house is located in a quiet part of the East side on a dead end, so there isn't much traffic around here. It even manages to stay quiet during SXSW every year, though East Sixth Street is a close walk/bike/drive. We have off-street parking, a full kitchen, a small living room with a TV and two comfy couches, and a small bathroom. Two people can comfortably sleep in each bedroom(which now have more comfortable beds than the ones pictured), and one of the couches works for a friend/guest. The house is small and not extremely glamorous, but the rooms are each about 130 sq. feet, and the neighborhood is calm aside from a neighbor who plays music some times. Our shower is a bit finnicky, as the bathroom was a later addition to the house, but I've used it for years without a problem.
We live in this house year-round, so our belongings will be around the house, but we have made it as comfortable for guests as possible.
Free wifi, everything you'd need in the kitchen, full bathroom, TV(no cable, but an X-Box for DVDs and games), washer, clothes line out back, fire pit. Window unit ACs and space heaters available, too. One room has a private entrance. I only ask that my bikes and computer aren't used.
Interaction with guests
I may be in town for your first/last night(staying elsewhere), but I don't plan to be around for the duration of SXSW, but am available by phone if needed.
Other things to note
Our house is very old, and our fridge rumbles a bit, but it's very comfortable, and I've been here over four years. There is no central heat/air, but each bedroom is equipped with space heaters, window units, and fans if needed. Luckily, SXSW tends to be the best time of the year, weather-wise.
Please, no pets. We both love animals, but they are just too much of a hassle to clean up after. Also, please don't throw any big parties. Small gatherings are fine, but we like to keep things here quiet so we don't disturb the neighbors. Also, if you smoke, please do it outside, and pick up your butts.

Freelance illustrator and metal head interested in drawing gig posters, designing t-shirts, and riding bikes. I also love cooking and work with food in town.
Austin is a great place to visit! There are a bunch of good restaurants/food trailers within walking distance of my house and there's a variety of bars in the same area. If I'm in town, I could show you around some, but I work a good amount and tend to hole up in my room to draw.
