Unique studio apartment in authentic place in Amsterdam North. Private entrance, patio doors to waterside terrace, fireplace, free parking, just 15 minutes from downtown. Includes 2 bikes and fresh eggs from our own chickens!

The space

The studio is a former horse stable and stands on an terrain of an old farm. This part of Amsterdam used to belong to Oostzaan and consisted of mostly farmers. The land has also an authentic barn and old haystack surrounded by (fish) water. The total site dates from circa 1890.

Guest access

The studio has a private entrance via a path that runs along the property. There is free access to a large terrace to the rear with views over the water.

Interaction with guests

The studio is on the ground (1000 m2) where we live but it is completely autonomous with lots of privacy.

Edwin and his wife were great hosts. Communication was excellent from beginning to end, check in was flexible and on arrival discovered we had food in the fridge to make breakfast with, which we thought was brilliant! The location was just perfect, it was lovely and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of amstersam centre. The bus into amstersam centre is a 30 second walk away from the house and only takes 20 minutes to get there. We got a day pass which was 10 euros per person. The return bus stops directly opposite the house. Edwin and his wife were really helpful and answered any questions we had when we were there. They made our stay a very relaxed and stress free one :) we will definitely go back!

We had a great vacation to Amsterdam. We chose this location outside of the city centre as we have been to Amsterdam before and wanted a slightly quieter location and to make use of the bikes on offer. Unfortunately my boyfriend had to have surgery 2 weeks previous to the trip so we had to result to using the buses to get into town which were frequent and stop right outside, but not so cheap if you are getting them 2x daily. The studio is beautiful and the location is in a quaint area. We loved our stay. Thakns Edwin.

A fantastic find! Edwin did everything to make our stay comfortable. He kindly picked us up from the airport. Had breakfast supplies in. Wood for the open fire. Breakfast on the waterfront, coots, swans and herons our neighbours. Access to bikes - 10min cycle to the free ferry that takes you right into the centre of Amsterdam. My one complaint? We didn't stay longer

Would definitely recommend! Edwin was a fantastic host, we arrived early and Edwin was flexible to pick us up sooner, which was a great help! The flat was perfect, finished to a really good standard, lots of space and a lovely bathroom - it was even better than the photos! The view from the flat is amazing, your own lake right outside the front door, with ducks swimming across every so often. Some breakfast supplies had been left for us as well which was very handy. Edwin very kindly lent us coats, as it was cooler than we had expected, and lent us bikes for free. When we had questions, Edwin was also very quick to respond via text or calling us, which was great. There were also a couple of adorable cats who came over to say hello when we were preparing the bikes, but I wouldn't worry if you are allergic, they didn't follow us around or come into the flat. All in all, a really great flat and a great host - we plan on going back the next time we're in Amsterdam. Would definitely recommend!
