Beautiful Country Home. It’s a gorgeous place to stay with family & friends.

A beautifully proportioned and sunny 4 bedroom house with a stylish design. It has a stunning entrance hall, huge open plan kitchen and a utility room. Two bedrooms have their own ensuite.

There is fantastic walking around, lovely pubs and great places nearby to visit including Salisbury, Stonehenge, Longleat Safari park, many historical sites and beaches within the hour.

We can offer a hot tub subj to availability.

The space
A lovely sunny house on a quiet, dead end lane in a great location. The house boasts a large open plan kitchen with dining table and a breakfast bar to sit at when drinking your morning coffee or keeping the cook company. A De Longhi coffee machine is provided.

Large sitting room with 3 sofas and wood burner - plenty of space to relax and put your feet up or enjoy playing games with friends & family. A starter basket of wood & kindling will be provided.

Contained Garden with gate. The house is south facing so benefits from sunshine all day! There's a swing seat in the garden & a pool table in the garage which you are welcome to use. There is also a utility room.

Beautiful walking out the back of the house. Grovely Woods has a gorgeous avenue and there are plenty of local sites and activities to entertain the whole family.

Neighbouring houses are close. We live in a lovely and friendly village but we do ask noise to be kept to an absolute minimum after 10pm and all music to be turned off. It's amazing how it travels. This is the perfect house for a family get together and a relaxing break.

The house has 4 bedrooms:
1 king size bed,
1 small double bed and
2 rooms with zip&link beds which can either be a super king or 2 full size singles.
We also have access to 2 guest beds which have proper pocket sprung mattresses. There is an additional fee of £20 per bed per night of stay.

All in all the house sleeps 7 very comfortably (8 if you’re happy with 2 in a small double). It can sleep up to 10 by arrangement.

When you arrive there is a comprehensive welcome book with plenty of information about the house and maps with highlighted routes of some of the amazing walks in the surrounding area. We will also make sure to give you updated information about what's open and the safest places to shop during this pandemic. We are very lucky to have a butcher, baker and a little supermarket within 5 minutes of the house.

Biking is also great in the area and though Grovely woods. If you want to bring your bikes with you then you are welcome to keep them in the garage.

We can arrange a hot tub subject to availability, please enquire if you'd like this option. Prices start at £210 for 2 nights. Please note this is subject to availability. If the hot tub is an absolute key requirement for your stay please send us an enquiry first so we can just confirm. Please note we might struggle to supply a hot tub between 22nd September 2021 and 23rd October 2021 as our hot tub company is on holiday.

We will consider well behaved pets. There is a flat rate of £20 per pet to accommodate the possible extra cleaning costs.

Any questions you have feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them. They can be about the area, places you might want to visit, the best pubs, I 'm happy to share my local knowledge and ensure you have the best stay you could ask for.

Due to the coronavirus, we're taking extra steps to clean and sanitise frequently touched surfaces. A small contribution to cleaning of £60 will be added to each stay.

Where you’ll be

Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom

Barford St.Martin is a small, picturesque village in South Wiltshire located 2 miles from Wilton, the ancient capital of Wessex and some 13 miles from Shaftesbury. It is located on the junction of the A30 and the B3089. It is within the Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river Nadder runs through the village and Barford is known as one of the Nadder valley villages. Its history can be traced back to the 11th Century and there was reference to Barford in the Domesday Book compiled in 1085/1086.

The Cranborne Chase is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers a wealth of villages and local heritage sites to explore (Old Wardour Castle, Wilton House, Fovant Badges, Chiselbury Iron Age fort) and a great range of local and gastro pubs to sample. The medieval Cathedral in Salisbury, with England’s tallest spire at over 400ft high, is less than 20 minutes away. The Stonehenge World Heritage site with its new visitor centre is 15 miles away. Other local attractions include Shaftesbury’s famous Gold Hill, Longleat Safari Park, Messums Wiltshire, the New Forest, Paultons Park, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Stourhead House & Gardens. The City of Bath with its famous roman baths and the beautiful beaches of the Jurassic coast of Dorset are about an hour’s drive.
