About This Listing
LISTED AIRBNB TOP 40 ALL OVER THE WORLD !
Private studio (11sqm) on a 100yrs old houseboat right under the Eiffel Tower, on an outstanding pedestrian pier (Port de Suffren, World Heritage of Unesco). Central, yet very quiet and safe.
The owners of the houseboat also live there, but the two flats are perfectly independant.
The place is not huge (remember, you are on a boat!), but so romantic and cosy, it is like a little love nest on the river.
So what you have ALL FOR YOU is : a private entrance and private deck with table and chairs (perfect for a lunch or a drink outside !), a studio on two levels with a private bathroom (bathtub and shower, with a panoramic view!) and private toilets. "Bunk bed" 120x200, smaller than a regular double but will perfectly suit a couple. Sofa, chairs and tables, Nespresso, TV, WIFI, ipod station. The studio is well heated so comfortable even in winter. Breakfeast equipment, fridge. Extraordinary view (360 °) on the Seine, the Eiffel Tower, and monuments.
Private parking (10 €).
Just near by (5/10 minutes walk) : Eiffel Tower, Champs de Mars, Musee du Quai Branly, Trocadéro, Statue of Liberty, Museum of Modern Art, Palais de Tokyo, Grand Palais, weekly farmer markets.
And all Paris at walking distance!
BRAND NEW : IN JUNE 2013, AN AMAZING PEDESTRIAN PATH ("VOIES SUR BERGE") WAS LAUNCHED ON PARIS LEFT BANK, WITH PLENTY OF ACTIVITIES AND CAFES. AND THE BOAT IS RIGHT AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE PATH !!!!!!!! INCREDIBLY NICE FOR AN EVENING STROLL, A MORNING JOG OR A BIKE RIDE THAT WILL TAKE OU ALL THE WAY TO MUSEE D'ORSAY OR LE LOUVRE.

We had a unique experience staying on SaintAntoine. All basic necessities were available .Bed was very comfortable .Bath and shower worked well .Very close to rail net work and hop on hop if bus.Truly unique .thankyou Helene. John And Pauline from Australia
The St. Antoine is a tremendous place to stay in Paris! We discovered that it is very conveniently located very close to two Metro stations which makes it a piece of cake to get anywhere in Paris quickly and inexpensively. Despite 5 days of rain and flooding on the Seine we didn't have any difficulties with the houseboat. Helene is very nice and helpful and the place was very cozy and clean. If you are a big fat American like I am you might find the size of the quarters a little cramped. But we managed just fine and you can't beat the location. Just a couple minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and half a dozen Nutella Crepe stands (which doesn't help with the size issue). The tub is teeny tiny by American standards and there is no stand up shower but the water is very hot and plenty of it. The bed is in a little cubbyhole which you have to climb into, maybe 3' high by 4' wide by 6' long. It was quite close but very comfortable once you are in it. If you are taller than 6' or a large person it might be uncomfortably tight.
When the tourist boats are running there is a steady stream of them going past which creates a gentle rocking in the boat which we didn't mind a bit. At night and in the morning it was hard to notice you were in a boat at all.
All in all, staying on the ST. Antoine enhanced out stay in Paris and I would highly recommend it to those who don't need a large amount of room. I've already mentioned that I'm on the large side (5'10" and 250 lbs) and I had to go into the toilet backwards and stooped over. I think the ceiling in the toilet is probably 5'5" so there is no standing and peeing. It was still far better than the public toilets around Paris.
Thank you Helene,

The location of the houseboat is ideal! You are minutes from the Eiffel Tour with access to two metro stations and multiple bus stops for getting anywhere else in the city. Tons of nearby cafe's and restaurants.
The boat itself is unique and charming. It is a very small space but you are on a boat in front of the Eiffel Tour so you can hardly complain. It was rainy and very cold while we were there in early May so a shower would have nice. The tub works but is pretty tiny! The only downside was a strong chemical smell (maybe varnish?) that was likely coming from a neighboring boat. Not sure how common that is but it was not very pleasant.
We were not able to meet Helene in person but she always responded to questions and emails while we were setting up the trip.
The houseboat is just fantastic. I used to live in Paris, and always dreamt of living on a houseboat, so going back now and realizing that dream was a personal highlight of the trip. The houseboat is located just far enough from the tourist hustle and bustle for it to be quiet, cozy and feel safe. The little nook with the bed is awesome, the views are awesome, and the little coffeemaker is great, and the rocking waves send you to sleep. And there's something to be said about sitting in the tub, with all of Paris just on the other side. We've stayed in a lot of places through Airbnb, but this was definitely one of the coolest.
Staying on the houseboat was an amazing experience! I celebrated my 50th birthday in the City of Light and it could not have been a better experience. The houseboat is full of charm and could not be more convenient to the Metro, shopping, the Eiffel Tower...the list goes on. The houseboat would be a perfect setting for a romantic weekend, reflective getaway, celebration or your first visit to Paris! Cheers to Helene for providing such a wonderful place to stay.

About the Host, Helene
Very happy to greet you on our houseboat, located right under the Eiffel tower ! This houseboat has been our home for 8 years now, with our soon. In winter 14/15 we will be living elsewhere (we keep the rental of course) but will be back in our unit on July 15 !
AS for us, we love living on the water, it gives us such a great feeling of freedom and uniqueness ! We love to chill out on the deck with friends, relax, watch the boats and the sawns, and enjoy the sunset with a glass of vine from there.
But we are also in love and very busy with Paris urban life, as all the city jhas to offer is so close from our secret paradise.
We have renovated the boat ourselves. It has been since then displayed in many magasine and TV shows, is listed in Louis Vuitton Paris City Guide and rated Airbnb Top40 over the world !
