Saint Jean de Perges is situated in the middle of the hills of Quercy Blanc. The area is rich in cultural heritage and known for its Tuscan landscape, charming villages, hiking trails, colourful markets, generous hospitality, caves and castles.

The region is characterized by rolling hills full of an ever alternating tapestry of orchards, sunflowers and vineyards.

It is an area of unparalleled tranquility, beauty, a rich outdoor life and special cultural and culinary revelations.

The space
In the spring of 2012 we decided to pursue our dream: our own gîte in the south of France ...

In recent years we visited the region in all seasons and have seen many different houses since. Most of them in the beautiful countryside of Tarn and Garonne in villages such as Lauzerte, Montcuq, Rouillac, St Laurent L'olmie, Castelnau-Mantratier and Tréjouls.

In June 2016 we emigrated to France and one week later we found our dream home. Originally we thought of a house on a hill with a large barn to renovate. In the we ended up buying a beautiful longère, a former vineyard linked to a restored barn.

Guest access
Our gîte is open for everyone who wants to enjoy the peace, the culture, the many markets and the beautiful nature of one of the loveliest areas in France.

The gîte has its own entrance. Once inside you find yourself in the cozy dining room with the staircase to the first floor with its 3 bedrooms.

There is a sunny kitchen with French doors to the terrace and the gardens. The kitchen provides access to the bathroom with its walk-in shower.

Next to the dining room is the sitting room with a Jøtul wood stove.

In the front garden is a summer kitchen and a veranda with a lounging area where wonderful views and sunsets can be enjoyed.

Other things to note
NB: During July and August we only let our gîte per week (Saturday till Saturday).

The cottage offers a very comfortable stay for up to four adults. We don't really cater for children in terms of play-areas though there are games and dvd's available. The garden offers plenty of opportunity to relax and to enjoy the sun but is not suitable for rough tumble and play. There are a number of stairs in and around the cottage which make it less suitable for small children.

Living in the countryside amongst the fruit trees has always been our dream. We convert the almost inexhaustible amount of fruit from our garden into delicious jams.

We would be delighted to share that experience with anyone of our guests who might be interested.

We can also offer our guests the opportunity to experience what it is like to practice T'ai chi chuan or enjoy a relaxing session of traditional massage, Reiki or Shiatsu.
