We loved this place. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and bright. Mario's mother in law, Rita, lives upstairs and received us cordially with some Lambrusco and cake. She speaks perfect English and was always available to answer any questions we had. The kitchen is very well equipped and offered plenty of space to cook and eat. It is only a 10 min walk to the city center but the area around the apartment is residential and quiet at night. We would stay here any time again.

Good quiet location and close to city centre. The dog 'Pippo' was very friendly. Nicely furnished apartment. Would recommend and use again.

We had the nicest week in this beautiful apartment. A bottle of the local frizzante and a nice cake welcomed us at the kitchentable along with various kinds of food in the fridge. Our host was at vacation in Sicily but everything was taken care of via the other residents of the house and we had telephonenumbers for the family if anything was needed. Luckily we met la Signora the last day and would recommend this place to anybody who would like a nice quiet place just 10 minutes from the historical citycentre.

Our hostess Rita was extremely welcoming and kind (and speaks excellent English, which was a big help for us). She gave us a lot of useful information about the area, and it was easy for us to find our way into the city centre, and other places we needed to go. The apartment was lovely - clean, spacious, secure - and the dog in the garden (Pippo) was a bit noisy but very sweet when we met him. All in all it was a homely home from home.

John and I spent a week in beautiful Modena minutes from the pedestrian only center, at this lovely home. Our hostess, Rita was warm and charming and full of good local information. The apartment exceeded our expectations, clean, comfortable, attractive, spacious and well equipped for coking in the large, sunny, eat in kitchen. It was easy to park on the street in front to take the car for day trips to Parma, Manova, Ferrara, Bologna and the nearby Parmigiana Reggiano cheese producers, prosciutto makers and balsamic vinegar producers for free tours and tastings. Every morning we walked to the gorgeous covered market hall for provisions, an easy, flat 12 minutes. Evenings we walked into the historic center for aperitifs, dinner or gelato. It's beautiful to see the pink marble cathedral and leaning tower illuminated at night. The squares were always full of people after dark, it's a very safe city for walking. We hope to return and stay with Rita again in future in the best accommodation in Modena. She has a big friendly dog, Pippo, who greets you in the garden as you come and go. We made friends the first day, he's a barker, but doesn't jump up on you. Overall, a five star Air B&B, we highly recommend Mario's place.

The apartment was comfortable and perfect for a several day stay in Modena. We made good use of the well equipped kitchen and relaxed in the beautiful living room. Rita, who lives upstairs, is wonderful and full of helpful information. Pippo, the large German Schnauzer, enjoys being pet and receiving a lot of attention (but can be a little irritable at night time if he is out). It is a short walk to the central section of Modena - at a leisurely pace, it took us about 15-20 minutes to walk to the Marceto Albinelli and Piazza Grande. We would definitely recommend staying here again.

We really loved our stay in this charming apartment. It is the perfect mix of modern conveniences and 1920's furnishings. It is big, airy and set in leafy surroundings. We were delighted that it was only a short walk to the city centre. Rita was very helpful and recommended excellent restaurants within walking distance. Modena is a very interesting city.......lots to see and do.
