Bring your own tent and camp on our 10 acre property. To be clear: this is a low cost primitive campsite. Bring your own gear, including a flashlight. No water, sewer, or electric hookups available. No parking at the campsite. (Hike in 40 paces) “Bath House” a distance from campsite. We are generally happy to help w anything you’ve forgotten, if you ask. Washer and dryer in basement for a small fee to cover costs. WiFi works nearer the house than your campsite.

The space
This is a small wooded campsite nestled between a back road and a marsh / stream. There is a picnic table at the campsite, and room for one tent. Great access to local hiking. Abuts (unpaved) rail trail for walks or biking. Fire pit (in shared space) available for careful use, subject to fire warden’s approval. Camp wood available on site.

Guest access
Composting toilet and “solar” shower on property. Washer and dryer are in the basement. Guests may need to be nearer the house than their campsite to have an adequate WiFi signal.

Other things to note
We are taking covid 19 very seriously and are practicing social distancing! Similarly minded folks are welcome. Others are encouraged to look elsewhere. We know, and get along with, most neighbors within about a mile of here. Don’t be surprised if people slow down and wave to you as they drive by!

We’re near a numbered route, so there is road noise, otherwise our neighborhood is safe and quiet. Folks stop and say hi, and most everyone knows their neighbors. Gardner MA, Keene and Peterborough NH are within half an hours drive. Grocery, Walmart, etc are approximately 5 miles away

Quiet, somewhat shy, hard working, and honest (to a fault). Enjoy being outside, digging in the dirt, and hiking. Generally prefer the company of animals , especially my dogs. ;-)

During your stay
We are often doing stuff, but are basically pretty quiet and low key people. We will likely be home during your stay. We are available by text or in person to answer questions, but otherwise will give you space and privacy.
