Port Rexton has a lot to offer year round and in the winter is particularly enjoyable to cozy up and enjoy the wood stove in the tiny house. The PR Brewery is open on weekends throughout the winter so you can enjoy their tasty craft beer and gourmet grilled cheese at Oh My Cheeses. The Skerwink trail is always breathtaking. Snow snowshoeing and cross country skiing is dreamy and White Hills is just an hour away, so you can also enjoy the slopes! (Please see more on Winter Bookings below)

The space
Come kick back in this Tiny House with an ocean view that was designed and built with sustainability in mind.

The home is indeed Tiny but the location is HUGE! It is located just steps away from the Skerwink Trail and within walking distance of the Port Rexton Brewery. There are views of Trinity Bay as well as the surrounding hills.
The Tiny House includes Off Grid features like solar power, composting toilet and a beautiful mini wood stove to warm up this cozy space.

The outside of the home is reminiscent of a traditional Newfoundland Saltbox with colourful clapboard siding, while the interior features modern architectural design with clean lines and warm accents, such as exposed wood cathedral ceiling and natural birch hardwood floors. The home comes fully equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, cozy loft bedroom with queen sized bed, a space that can be easily converted for dining, lounging or sleeping and plenty of unique storage solutions.

Port Rexton has become one of the hottest destinations in Newfoundland's booming tourism industry. Since 1989, Fisher's Loft has been a real trailblazer in the community with incredible views and beautiful gardens that enhance the dining experiences at the Inn. More recently, the Port Rexton Brewery has been a resounding success and is a happening gathering place in the community. Underpinning all of the appeal of Port Rexton is the absolutely stunning natural beauty...you will be blown away by the world class hiking, the beautiful rolling hills, whale watching and other ocean exploration along the gentle, undulating bays and jaw dropping cliffs.

This Tiny House was on the cover of Costco Connection and featured in Home & Cabin magazine. To see more online, you should be able to find these stories and more info at Driftwood Dwellings.

Guest access
The Tiny House is located on an acre of land on a ridge in a wooded area of Port Rexton. The lot is shared with a cabin and guests are welcome to share all of the outdoor spaces. It should be noted that although the house is in an incredibly beautiful area, the lot has been recently cleared, is quite rocky and landscaping is a work in progress.

Other things to note
PETS: Your furry friends are welcome but there is an additional fee of $25 per night. If you plan to bring a pet, please let me know and select 3 guests when you make a booking request.

WINTER BOOKING DETAILS:
This is the first time I will be offering my Tiny House on Airbnb in the winter, and with that may come with some challenges and risks I would like to point out. Before requesting any reservations from November to April please review the following points:
1) Water: Water to the tiny house, which normally comes from a hose in the warmer months is disconnected in the winter as it would be at risk of freezing. There will be three 20 L jugs set up in the house that will be connected to a pump and the hot water heater. FYI, one full 20 L jug will get you a quick 5 minute shower! There will also be another 20 L jug setup by the sink in the kitchen that you can use to prevent the rather noisy pump from kicking in every time a tap is turned on! Guests can re-fill the water jugs as often as they like. This involves going outside with the jugs, connecting the hose at the cabin nearby, and turning on the water to fill up the jugs. The water then needs to be shut off and the hose disconnected to prevent freezing.
2) Snow Clearing: I have a contractor engaged to plow snow and my cleaner will do what she can to shovel. However, there may be times after snow storms where guests may need to shovel some snow to get in to the tiny house. I do not expect many problems but if there are big storms like last year from winter weather in NL (like Snowmageddon!) there may be some challenges.
3) ) I am usually located in St. John's so that may make it challenging for me to trouble shoot some issues that may arise. I hope all goes smoothly but if there is a significant problem that I am unable to resolve that effects guests, a few options are available. During your stay, I will offer a reasonable agreed upon refund for nights effected depending on the inconvenience caused by the issue. If something arises before your stay, you have the option to change your booking dates or cancel the reservation and I would provide a full refund.

I understand this may sound complicated, but I wanted to fully communicate the Tiny House challenges so that my guests understand the situation before booking:)
