Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Incredibly UNIQUE 100 year old property fully-restored, perched up high in the almost 90 degree curve of trout-stocked Spring Creek, called Fowler's Bend. Built in 1900 as a General Store for Hot Springs, this lower apartment, Cliffside, has INCREDIBLE VIEWS out front of RUSHING WATERS of the 20-30 foot wide creek, and backs up to almost 7,500 acres of Pisgah NATIONAL FOREST across the road.

The space
This 2 bedroom (king beds) / 2 bathroom unit has ample parking, a full kitchen to share meals together, or to just make coffee. There is a gas FIREPLACE in the front living room and a CLAWFOOT TUB beckons you to soak in one of the bathrooms, while a shower can be found in the other. Both the window seat, deck and terrace allow you to rest or come together with loved ones to overlook the breathtaking waters of Spring Creek and long range views of the ONLY (though small) in town WATERFALL, appropriately named Town Falls.

If you are looking for water it is abound here. These views and sounds of the water are unparalleled, and will leave you believing in the magic of Mother Nature! Be sure to keep an eye out for the Blue Heron and the old iron pilings from the former connecting bridge.

Have additional members in your party? There is a futon sofa that converts into a bed in the second living room for additional guests.

For those who love to hike or walk (or who want to avoid attempting to park in the small town of Hot Springs) in under 10 minutes you can be at the Appalachian Trailhead or Laughing Heart, to the Town of Hot Springs to dine or shop, and approx. 15-20 minute walk to the hot mineral springs hot tubs and rafting.

Come Retreat Within!

NOTE: Linens may vary from pictures due to seasonality.

This is a bottom floor unit, so you may hear noises from the guest space above though we have added insulation between floors in 2021.

Traveling for pleasure, for me, is all about getting out of my routine and exploring a destination, being outdoors, or simply just being in my own space. I am a horrible tourist! I would much rather be outside at a cafe observing people in the street than in a museum, and have learned to enjoy spontaneity on vacation or in an experience. How else do you leave room for some amazing opportunities and perhaps fun stories later down the road? Although I was raised in the Western North Carolina mountains, I left at a young age never thinking I would come back . . . EVER. I have lived in many places and have had the privilege of some amazing travel experiences internationally - off the gringo path in Peru, living above an artist's gallery in Indonesia, going to school in the Loire Valley in France, hiking into an active volcano in Nicaragua . . . the privilege was not about the places I stayed, but in the people I encountered who helped ignite my soul in some way or uncover what living is truly about. All of my travels and experiences have brought me back to this mystical and magical mountainous wonderland. And now I wish to share it with you!
