Our cozy cape cod is perfectly located in one of Charlottesville's oldest and most family friendly neighborhoods. Close to downtown, Uva and the Barracks Road area, it is a perfect place to stay and enjoy all that Charlottesville has to offer.
This 1,600 square foot, 1940's cottage has been recently renovated and includes an updated kitchen and bathroom and an open floor plan living room, dining area and kitchen. There are two bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The master bedroom is upstairs and has a king sized natural latex mattress. The second bedroom is a nursery that has a crib and changing table and a toddler bed. The nursery is located next to the bathroom on the main floor. The basement is finished and there is a playroom area that can double as another bedroom. There is a comfortable, queen size air bed that can be setup. We can accommodate 4 guests and a baby and toddler between the master bedroom and basement air bed, crib and toddler bed. 2 additional guests can be accommodated on the living room sectional couch and the couch in the basement, which are comfortable to sleep on and great for the single folks in your party. :)
Additionally, we do also have a cottage on the property that can accommodate 4 additional guests, should you have a larger party. We can do a bulk rate for the house and cottage together should that suit your stay better. Just let us know!
The kitchen is small, yet well appointed with a gas stove and stainless steel appliances. We have everything you need to cook and enjoy a tasty meal.
In lieu of a microwave and coffee maker, we have a coffee grinder and french press. Use the gas stove for popcorn and reheating food. There is also a toaster oven.
We just cancelled our cable. We have a large flat screen TV that is set up with ROKU. There is a DVD player and our internet wifi is 1000mbps provided by TING "crazy fast internet". We've found that you can upload a 2 hour movie in about 2 seconds. Its awesome.
The bathroom has an original, full sized cast iron tub and ceramic tile surround shower. There is a pedestal sink and all of the fixtures are brushed nickel. The floor is indian slate. There is a linen closet within the bathroom stocked with towels and washcloths.
There is a working wood stove in the dining area that creates a cozy atmosphere. Wood for the woodstove is located on the back deck, inside the screen porch. The mid century modern dining room table can be adjusted to accommodate up to 10 people.
There is a laundry room with a front loading washer and dryer.
The front yard is tastefully landscaped in native plants and there is a large screened in porch with a large table and chairs and new deck with a Weber grill on the back of the house to enjoy.
This is our home, where we live full time. We have taken care to incorporate beautiful color and cool design ideas to make our older home unique, comfortable and cozy and we hope you enjoy your stay!
Full kitchen, laundry, front and back yards, back deck, free off street parking.

Other things to note
Several restaurants on the UVA corner deliver to Oxford Road. College Inn, Basil and Mellow Mushroom are a few. Bodos bagels is a cville staple and is located on Preston Avenue. Shenendoah Joe is our favorite coffee, and is also located on Preston Avenue. Whole Foods is a 5 minute drive off of 250, and there is a Kroger and Harris Teeter at the Barracks Road shopping center, also 5 minutes away. For a Health Food Store, Integral Yoga is located on Preston Avenue, next to Mona Lisa Pasta, which serves up fresh, delicious pasta and sauces daily.
This is our primary residence, so please respect our possessions and leave the house as you found it. Used linens and towels may be left in the laundry room. Be sure to lock the house when leaving. Please do not change the temperature settings on the thermostat. No smoking and no pets please.
If you bring children, they are welcome to the toys in the house. There are some safety gates as well, one of which is permanently installed at the base of the steps on the first floor. Please use them and watch your kids if they are playing on the steps or the back deck!
Accidents do happen, so if something gets broken or goes missing, please just let us know so we can take care of it.
Above all else, get comfy and have a nice time in Charlottesville! :)

My husband Zach is from Morgantown, West Virginia and I am from Charlottesville, Virginia. He is a builder, and I am a painting contractor and we are both musicians. We have a 4 1/2 year old daughter named Morgan and a 1 1/2 year old son, Archer. Zach likes to run, surf and fish, and I like to play volleyball, row and nap in the sunshine.
