Kildonan is at the South end of Arran. You can watch from the deckchairs in the garden or from the caravan windows. You can see plenty of wildlife; seals, otters on the shore. Bird life and sometimes red squirrels visit the garden.

There is limited parking space near to caravan. There is parking at the top of silversands beach, you can leave your car here or drop your bag and then park at the top of silversands.

Only booked people (max 2) allowed to sleep in caravan, no guests after 8pm.

Compost toilet - sawdust is used as cover material. Please tie the top of the bag when you go. We will put this in the seperate humanure composting bin. Please do not put it in the general waste.

Bring a torch and a towel!

Strictly no smoking inside caravan

Untreated spring water is available from a tap at the front of the white shed beside the track. There is a container in the caravan. We recommend bringing your own bottled water to drink or boiling the water.

You can walk to the left 2 mins along main road and walk down steps to Silversands beach, get an icecream at the Sealshore Campsite shop - washed down with a pint at the Kildonan hotel. You can book an evening meal, takeaway or a breakfast at the Kildonan hotel. Check online for opening times. Keep an eye out for Otters, Seals and dolphins.

We have freerange chickens and a dog and cat that wander around.

Direct public transport from ferry terminal take Southend bus - stop at Kildonan castle & wee gallery. 1 min walk to caravan in the garden of No 2 Coastguard House.

Fantastic sea views. You can sit on the chairs or in the caravan and watch for wildlife. If you are lucky you may spot, seals, otters, basking shark and lots of birds. Red squirrels can sometimes be spotted in the garden. The caravan is on an exposed cliff top - if the edge bothers you let us know and we can temporarily fence it off.

To access the beach you can either walk along the main road and down the steps. Visit the wee gallery and see Kildonan castle. You can walk along the beach and get an ice cream at the campsite shop, or a pint or a meal at the Kildonan hotel.

Kildonan is at the south end of Arran. There is Kildonan hotel 5 mins down the road. There is also a camp site with small shop.

We recommend you bring your shopping with you. You can bring a disposable bbq if the weather is nice.

Go for a swim at silversands beach.

There is a nice circular walk from the caravan you can walk along and visit the Wee Gallery and see the ruins of Kildonan Castle then walk down a rough path onto the Sandy beach and get an icecream at the Sealshore Campsite shop - washed down with a pint at the Kildonan hotel. Keep an eye out for Otters and Seals if you are very luck you may spot some dolphins!

A seal colony can often be seen in the west of Kildonan about 40 mins walk from the caravan. If the tide is out you can walk to see the black cave or carry on around the shore to Kilmory.

At the far end of Kildonan you can walk up the main road and go to the left
to visit the micro hydro turbine house at the end of the path is the small fairy waterfall with a scultpure I carved. Then walk uphill through the lower forests You can visit Easmore waterfall ,and the wooden hut library in the forest and walk to Loch Garbahd.

Forest walk from Kildonan to Whiting bay via the Giants Graves and Glen Ashdale Waterfalls then walk down into Whiting bay or carry on walking to Lamash. - The path goes just past the Kildonan hotel you can join the coastal way forestry section thst goes up to the high road.

You need to do your shopping before you get here. There are co-ops in Brodick and Lamlash and food shop in Whiting Bay.
