Some info has been automatically translated.
At the foot of the beautiful Quantock Hills and only 4 miles from the coast, the perfect location for walkers and cyclists, with enough local attractions for those looking for a more relaxed break.

The space
A small double room with comfortable double bed, hanging space, tea/coffee making facilities and exclusive use of adjacent bathroom. Also a range of maps, books and local information are provided. The room overlooks the garden and Nether Stowey Castle Mount, from which there are beautiful views.

Guest access
The house is located in a very quiet cul-de-sac, with ample on and off road parking and secure bicycle storage. Use of kitchen may be possible by prior arrangement. Bathroom adjacent to the room is for your own use - please note that hot water is from a tank, not a constant, endless supply.

During your stay
We work both at home and away but will usually be here to welcome you and provide any local information you may need. During your stay, if we are not here in person we are always at the end of a phone and never too far away.

Other things to note
We have a 3 year old Cockapoo (dob Sept 2019) - she is generally very well behaved but we are still working on not jumping up when she is very excited.
We offer to serve you a continental breakfast if timings allow - if not, we will leave your breakfast ready for you.

Neighbourhood highlights

Nether Stowey lies at the foot of the Quantock Hills - which are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - just off the A39. First mentioned in Anglo-Saxon times as an agricultural settlement and in the Doomsday Book as being one of four separate manors, Nether Stowey has a long and interesting history. It is the starting point of the Coleridge Way and is famous for its links with the Romantic Poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth.
The older part of the village is in a conservation area. The village has two pubs, the George Hotel and The Ancient Mariner; the latter serves food at luchtime and evenings. There are a good selection of shops, a small library and the village post office also houses the Quantock Tearoom.
The Mount - Nether Stowey Castle - was a Norman motte-and-bailey castle, built in the 11th century. It has been designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and there are fantastic views from the top.

Only 9 miles from the M5 Nether Stowey is easily accessible from any part of the country. There are regular rail and coach services to Bridgwater (8 miles). Perfect for keen walkers and cyclists, we are 4 miles from the West Somerset coast, 2 miles from the top of Quantock Common, 8 miles from the start of Exmoor.
