Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The C18th Coach House is in Goodrich near to Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire & is in the grounds of our house. It's perfect for 2 people. Original floor & beams have been retained. It's very well equipped to make your stay comfortable. The superking bed is so comfy.
We can offer advice on places to visit, places to dine & there's lots of info/leaflets on local walks/cycle/ canoe hire etc. Come & stay & explore the beautiful Wye Valley in this peaceful spot. You won't be disappointed!

The space
We renovated the coach house with an aim to transform it into an attractive living space for our guests to relax in and enjoy. Several original features still are evident such as the floor and the beams. At one time the coach house had been used by a governess to a young girl living in the main house. We are lucky enough to know a lot of history of the property and have photos depicting that time and these are displayed by the dining area. There is an open plan well equipped kitchen, living, dining space and a bedroom with a super-king bed, wardrobe with hanging and shelf space. A hairdryer and a fan are also provided. The ensuite shower/WC is roomy and the vanity unit has cupboard space.
There is a cosy wood-burner in the lounge and central heating throughout. The washing machine and iron and ironing board is in the utility room just off the veranda. The veranda is a perfect place to sit and listen to birdsong. Apart from the TV with Freeview, there are a few board and card games. WIFI is available for our guests to use in the property.
All bed linen is fine Egyptian cotton and is provided as well as hand and bath white fluffy towels.Tea towels, dish cloths, paper towels etc are also in the kitchen.

Guest access
You are able to park your car off road right outside the coach house by the steps. The patio area is a lovely cool space to enjoy a bbq whilst listening to birdsong and the garden to the side of the property and in front of our house is a sun trap. A place to sip a glass of wine perhaps.the veranda is covered .

Other things to note
We are sorry but we do not accept babies or children as the property is not suitable. No pets are allowed and the coach house is strictly a non-smoking property ( apart from in the garden or on the veranda)

Neighbourhood highlights

The Wye Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Goodrich is a small village conveniently situated between Ross on Wye (just off the M50) and Monmouth just off the A40 and so is ideally placed for visiting the The Forest of Dean, The Brecon Beacons, including Hay on Wye (famous for its literary festival), Abergavenny (famous for its food festival) ,The Malvern Hills (famous for RHS Flower Shows), Hereford, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cardiff and Bristol etc.
There is an excellent village shop about a mile away "Woods of Whitchurch" where guests can purchase essential supplies, newspapers etc. It also has an excellent coffee shop and provides a take away service on various nights of the week. There are two pubs within walking distance in our village, both serving good food, local ales and cider.
Ross on Wye has a market on Thursdays and Saturdays and has many independent shops. Monmouth, over the border in Wales is about 6 miles away and is well worth a visit. There is so much to see and do in the area!

John and I moved to this beautiful part of the Wye Valley in 2005 having spent many holidays in the area. We ran a B&B for nearly 10 years and then once we were made grandparents, we decided to stop that side of our business and concentrate on offering self catering accommodation for 2 people in our coach house. We are fortunate that many of our guests return time and again. We hope that you too will fall in love with the area and enjoy the tranquility that the Coach house offers.
