Riad Danika is a small house situated at the end of a very narrow unlit sidestreet, which we found quite alarming as we arrived at night We were dropped by taxi in a small sqaure then had a 10 minute walk to the Riad, which would be impossible without the help of a very pleasant man who directed us to the property. Niama the housekepper awaited us with tea, and showed us to the main square to find somewhere to eat, she was also there toprovide a bread & coffee breakfast each morning.

Lovely authentic riad in the center of old medina. Was awesome having breakfast and a cleaner in each day. Was a little tricky to get to, i would suggest getting Catherine to organise an airport transfer as we never would have found it. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps takes you a route that leads to a deadend. Better to get to it via the north

Response from Catherine:
Thanks Claudia. Hope you enjoyed your staying. Yes the medina is tricky there is a lot of streets :-) Transfert is better for the first time as Naima or the driver can show you the right way. Hope you'll be back in marrackech. Regards Catherine

Riad Danika is truly in the "heart of the medina" as advertised, although it's really more of a 10-15 minute walk while wading through the throngs and dodging scooters, rather than the 7 minutes claimed. If you are up for feeling like you truly live in the medina in Marrakech, this place is for you! If it had just been my husband,my teenage kids, and myself, it would have felt like quite an adventure. I would not recommend this location, however, for anyone with even slight mobility issues. We were travelling with my near 70 year-old mother, who normally would not have trouble walking for 7 minutes, but who was exhausted by the time we got to or from Riad Danika. Navigating so many crowds and having to dodge a constant stream of scooters was difficult for her. Another caution for women travelers is that there is a pack of adolescent neighborhood boys that entertain themselves by taunting female tourists and trying to touch you. I think that they would not actually harm you, but one tried to kick my mother as we walked by. Since the riad is at the end of a very long narrow dead-end corridor, there is no way to avoid these boys. Solo women would be better off choosing a less secluded location. The Riad itself looks much as pictured, however in November the inner courtyard, while attractive, is very cold. Meeting Naima, the cook and your guide, was a highlight of the trip. She served a lovely breakfast each morning and we had some great conversations, in French, with her.

Response from Catherine:
Hello Christina, As the presentation says, the Ryad is in the middle of the medina. 7 minutes walks is the time that guest experienced when they come to the Ryad. . Sorry to hear that your mother had some difficulty to walk, you didn't mention that she was 70 years old. I would have warn you that somethimes the medina can be a bit loud and attractive. it's Marroco. I usually travel alone in marrackech and i never had any issue with the neighborhood. I will tell them next time that i go. You mentionned that you liked your trip despite this small experience. All the best.

We had a wonderfull time at Riad Danika. The riad is in de middel of the medina, outside the riad you will find small streets, shops and a lot of people. In the riad you will enjoy the private space, it's relaxed and beautifull! Naima is a great host, very nice and looks after you. I recommend this riad highly and would stay here again!

Beautiful ryad in the center of the medina, located in a quiet backstreet. Maybe 15 minutes to djemaa el fna (main market place). Our kids loved the pool in the inner courtyard. Excellent bathroom facilities. Good internet connection. We enjoyed Naima's hospitality very much. We highly recommend this riad.

Location - apartment in the very centre of the Medina, but as it is not located right by the main street it is very quiet and calm; Apartment - was excatly as in pictures, with all neccessary equipment and no problems with wifi/TV. Overall - breakfasts each morning prepared by housekeeper was really nice, only language barrier as she did not speak English, only Franch/Arabic, but of course everything was ok in the end. Plus was nice that You could arrange through host pickup from airport/train station and also agree with the same driver to tske You back. 10/10

I stayed three nights with my friends at Catherine place. The house is really beautiful, we enjoyed our stay there a lot, it is located next to the medina and not far away of anything. The Internet worked most of the time very good and the breakfast was excellent. I cannot recommend highly enough this place to other guests
