Where you’ll be

Velanidia, Greece

Velanidia village is an ideal location to use as a base and visit beautiful places around, like the medieval Monemvasia 54.3 km, the amazing Kithira & exotic Elafonisos where you can arrive there via Ferry/bus from Neapoli .The route Velanidia - Neapoli is a total of 14 kilometers .An amazing landscape with alternating images consisting of the view to the Myrtoos Sea, the Laconic Gulf, oaks and scattered chapels. The season you will make it reserves you a different but very rich color chart and intense smells. You can also visit the Petrified Forest which included in the Aegean Geological Monument Atlas and justly claims its place in Europe’s Geopark Network. The Petrified Forest located at the coastal sites Agia Marina, Korakas and Spitha, just a few kilometres away from the village of Agios Nikolaos. Access is through a dirt road (2 km). Near By to Velanidia settlement you can visit Cape Maleas, the most renown of the three capes of Peloponnese. There are lots of places to visit in the broader area so if you are interested please don’t hesitate to ask us more information about it!
In Velanidia you will see no cars because they are not allowed. There are parking places right outside the village to protect families from the noise, dangers and pollution of the cars.
In the little square, where located very close to the Dandy on the beach house you will find a mini market with traditional Greek goods. In the summer time this little square becomes livelier because of the folklore festivities where locals and visitors celebrate together.
You can also have your coffee there or even your morning Ouzo, the traditional Greek drink you absolutely must try! Fishermen all around the country love it because it helps them narrate their adventures throughout the seas. Drinking Ouzo with a fisherman you‘ve just met could be a quite interesting experience! A few meters down the road there is a beautiful sandy beach where you can swim and enjoy the sun.
