Nice villa. Comfortable, pleasant and serene. Needs a spruce-up as it lacks some general maintenance to keep it in high standard. Great ocean view but no beach and the water isn't good for swimming. The rooms were nice and comfortable. Out door showers were a nice touch but not well executed. Guests on the top floors can peek into the shower areas of the lower floors. Kinda funny actually. Villa manager isn't very good. You need to be insistant and vigilant with him. We asked him to prepare a seafood BBQ and the prawns were not fresh - mushy and past its it prime - clearly overcharged us given the quality and quantity of the BBQ. I sent my driver and car to the villa, and hired an extra car (with driver) from my usual sources. The villa can help with car+driver hire but it is quite a bit more expensive. Overall, we had a nice stay despite the shortcomings.

Hi Quincy, Thank you for your review and feedback about your stay at Villa Anjani, glad that you have nice holiday at the villa and enjoyed it. And thank you for your feedback on the maintenance stuff, the car hire and the bbq. On behalf of Management, I would like to apologize for this inconvenience cause. I have spoken with our Manager about the seafood bbq and as our action that we will change our seafood supplier for the villa and will not using them again. As for maintenance stuff, we have carry on the things that need to be done at the villa and hopefully everything it will be done and ready before our next guests. As for car hire, I have spoken with our staff and the car hire company, the price that they gave is includes driver and fuel per day. Hence why it is sounds like expensive but it is actually reasonable as the cost for fuel nowadays has increased substantially in Indonesia. However we will discuss about this with the car hire company for them to review it. Thank you and hope we can welcome you again with better quality and service at the villa or at our other villas in Bali. Take care and wish you all the best.

Fantastic! Such extravagance and luxury. The Villa was a little like a dream.Extreme comfort with detailed and considerate hospitality. The perfect place to joyfully spend time with the people you love. A wonderful experience and the staff are so attentive and fantastic. They were like family, assisting us whenever we asked. Swimming and snorkelling from our back steps was so wonderful. We loved the little village of Mendira Beach and tested out many of the shops and warungs. The Villa is a short car ride from the main Candidasa strip and this was a good thing! We loved the privacy and quietness.

Hi Stephanie, Thank you for the glowing review about Villa Anjani and the improvement feedback. I'm glad to hear that you have great time stay at the villa and the standard of the villa and the service meet your satisfaction. We did normally changing the towels every 2 days depending the guests request and we've been doing this for years, and the staff only change them when the guests want the towels to be change. Same policy with the AC at the villa, only turn it on 1 hour before the guests arrival and when the guests are using the rooms, we are turn it off the AC. I will inform the Villa Manager about the suckling pig to cook properly for future reference as this can't be happening. As for the snorkeling equipments, we do have some snorkeling equipments at the villa, however if the villa doesn't have it, the staff will borrow it from our next door villa...Anyhow, we will check it again and if we do need some more, we will buy it again. Thank you and hopefully someday we can welcome you back to Villa Anjani. All the best.

Villa Anjani is an absolutely beautiful getaway if you want something a little quieter and more secluded than the chaos of Seminyak and the West Coast. The villa itself is spacious and at the same time cosy. The bedrooms are all large and well designed, though the twin room upstairs is definitely better suited for a family with kids as it is smaller than the others and shares an en suite with the upstairs master. The beach and ocean are right at your doorstep but do yourself a favour and go during low tide season so there is actually a beach to walk on! The staff at the villa were extremely helpful and friendly when it came to organizing transport and the pick-up/delivery of outside food, as I have to admit, we were slightly disappointed with the villa's food options. Overall, a really lovely stay with beautiful views, good accommodation as it appears in the photographs and very friendly staff to top it all off.

Hi Paul, Thank you for nice review and feedback. And I'm sorry to hear that one of your group has suffered diarrhea, hope she/he has recovered now. However our pool been regular cleaned twice a week, thus I found it quite difficult to believe if our pool is dirty. However I will forward this message to our staff to look at it and clean it better. As for the driver, I will investigates on this matter directly with our staff...this could be from our local taxi driver which sometimes they do charge our guests over price, we have spoken with the taxi organizer about this many times and warn them and its unfair for their driver to over charge our guests (any guests in that matter). We will talk with them again about this, and thank you for letting us know.

Our names are Rene and Tom, and although originally from Indonesia and the UK respectively we have lived all around the world as far afield as Azerbaijan and Malaysia. In July 2008 Tom gave up the corporate life and we settled in Bali. Unfortunately it was spectacularly bad timing to try and set up a new life as the Financial Crisis hit, and so we went back on the expatriate road again, this time to Bangkok in Thailand.

In 2012 we tried again, and this time we were successful in getting out of the corporate rat race and so we now manage our own 4 villas full time, as well as 3 other great villas of friends - so this is now our life!

Both of us love Bali and have made several trips together here over the years. Tom is a fanatical diver which drew us first to East Bali, where we decided to buy our first villa close to Candidasa and directly on a white sand beach with a great reef directly offshore that was perfect for snorkeling. We named it Villa Talia Vashti after our little daughter (Talia Vashti).

In 2007 we were blessed with a second daughter, who we named Kalisha. We realised we were in trouble now though as she was bound to be jealous that her sister had a villa and she did not. Many years ago we stayed at a villa in Ubud called Villa Uma which we had absolutely loved. Rene had always wanted a place up in the mountains where the temperatures were pleasant and cool all day, but she also wanted to be close enough to Ubud to be able to enjoy the restaurants and attractions of the area. Villa Uma was perfect, so we called up the owner to see if he was willing to sell, and as is the case when you feel fate is on your side he actually had the villa on sale. The villa though was in a bad state of repair, and while the previous owner while had a great feel for aesthetics, he lacked a little something when it came to practicality with the result that the villa had no staff quarters, no storage and the roof and deck were falling apart.

We decided to buy it anyway, and then committed to a major renovation. We replaced all the decking by the pool (which had rotted away) and extended the swimming pool to make it a genuine infinity pool. We took away the old wooden railings and replaced them with safety glass so that you could now lie down anywhere in the villa and still have uninterrupted views of the jungle (and it was also safer for kids). We also built an entirely new staff quarters and storage area to the back of the villa. Having started all this work, we realised that the villa itself looked a little old and tired, so we replaced all the bathrooms, installed a new and properly fitted and functioning guest kitchen, and renovated and repainted the entire villa from top to bottom. This would be a major task for any villa, but for Villa Kalisha every single thing we needed for the renovation had to be carried by hand along the path to the villa, and similarly rubble and waste had to be carried back again.

Finally 6 months later, the villa was finally finished and we renamed it Villa Kalisha to avoid any sibling arguments later in life.

In early 2008 we moved to Bali full time, and bought a great villa in Seminyak that was close to everything - this time to live in ourselves. When we left Bali in late 2009 to go to live in Bangkok, we renamed our home Villa Rene (after my wife) and rented it out with our other villas. We always loved Villa Rene, and it is still my wife's favourite villa, but even we were surprised on how many enquiries we received.

Finally the kids said that Daddy needed to have a villa as well. With the money from the corporate job in Thailand, and with income coming in from the other villas, we were able to another villa. We wanted a villa that was totally different again from our other villas, and so this time we chose a villa at the top of probably the highest hill on the Bukit, close to Jimbaran and with spectacular views out over the cliffs. We named the villa "Villa Leana" which is our daughter Kalisha's 2nd name, although the kids still call it "Daddy's Villa".

We still find it hard to believe that we could end up owning one amazing villa in Bali, let alone four and so we often have to pinch ourselves to believe that these are really our villas when we stay at them with our little daughters, which we try and do whenever we can. In any case we think they are all really special places and we hope that get as much enjoyment from our villas as we do.
