We enjoyed our stay at Celso's house. The place was very centric, just two minutes of walk from Granada Cathedral. The neighbourhood was tranquil, safe and good. There's a supermarket, a pharmacy, bars and cafes close to the house. Also, Celso is a very friendly person who has showed a great hospitality during our stay. We went out for drinks and tapas together, he shared some interesting information about the city, its rich history and places to see. He was always wiling to help when we had questions.
The experience of staying at this house was great. Celso was a very good host, not only making sure that we felt at home in the house, but also that we got a very good exposure to Granada. Celso recommended some places to visit at the start of our stay, and even after that we went out with him and his friends on two of our three nights to local bars and restaurants, where we had very good conversations on a variety of topics from art to our respective hometowns. The neighbourhood is great as well - with a lot of good local and affordable tapas bars nearby. It is also very close to the city centre - a maximum of 10 min walk to the Cathedral.
I lived with Celso for almost three months, and I really loved it! The apartment is so authentic and beautiful, and covered with Celsos own paintings. The standard is simple, but you have everything you need for a lovely stay in Granada! It's located very central in the city, but at the same time it's not noisy. You find everything you need just outside the door, and all of the citys areas are within walking distance. Celso is such a welcoming host who always make sure you have everything you need. He will teach you about Granada and let you in on the best places to see and experience. He's a very intelligent man and I had so many interesting conversations with him. Stay here and you'll get a true spanish, authentic experience!
Great stay at Celso's place! Authentic Granada living with nice (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and also brilliant central location, Celso is a great host (knows a lot of good stories about Granada and Andalusian history and arts...good conversations!) - really enjoyed the visit. All positive things to say! Recommended for anyone visiting Granada who wants to stay somewhere with character in a convenient location for walking in the city (and of course, for finding good food...!)
Response from Celso:
Harry is a very interesting guy, smart & polite. I have enjoyed my own city with him and we have shared several things in these days. He is highly recommended person to share the space, talk, learn, drink a tea and have a nice time. Sincerely, I hope that he can back here always that he wants. Thanks for all, mate!!
Before my arrival communications were quick and friendly and Celso was very helpful. I wasn't able to make reservations for the Alhambra online and Celso didn't hesitate to make it and pay for it in advance. Once arrived in Granada, Celso was very welcoming and I was offered the double room instead of the single room I had booked, since it was available. That was a nice gesture. The room was perfect; it had a really wonderful matress, so I slept great and there was a large desk near the window for writing, checking email etc. The house is old and has a lot of atmosphere, partly due to the different tiles in the rooms and the many paintings all over the house. Every room is decorated differently and has its own style. Besides my room, I could use the fully equiped kitchen and bathroom whenever I wanted. The house is close to everywhere you want to go in Granada. There were also friends from Celso staying and another Airbnb-guest, but the house is large enough to still have privacy. On some occasions the young people went out at night and I was always invited to come along or to have a drink with them when they were home. Sometimes I have done so and I had a lot of fun. On my birthday Celso treated me on Tapas and wine in one of his favorite spots. He also gave me some good tips about where to go, which is very helpful when you don't know a city. He even gave me a small course about Granada, standing in front of a schoolbord. And I'm a teacher, so imagine my joy... :-) It's obvious that Celso is not just lending rooms, but is offering a home during your stay. So would I stay here again? Most def! The perfect base to explore the many things that Granada has to offer and the perfect host, who shares everything he has without reservation. Celso, thanks again for a great stay and lots of love!
If you are looking for luxury ...then this is not the apartment for you...however if you are looking for somewhere interesting and with character then you won't find better! Celso is a great host who made us feel welcome and at home and even brought us to some of his favourite places in Grenada. Recommended! Thanks Celso! Claire & Aaron
