I had a great stay with them in a special location. The guest space is set up with a great view of where the sun rises and the solid lava fields. Sean is helpful with great advice and conversation but also respectful of time. He gave me local fruits to sample and made the stay an…

Sean & Zorro’s place is in such a unique location. We enjoyed our one night stay here prior to heading to Volcanoes National Park. We used the outdoor kitchen to cook dinner and breakfast and enjoyed the rare lava scenery.

Comfortable and clean. Great shower area. The view from the room is panoramic which looks out to the lava rocks and some papaya trees growing from it. It can feel hard to find but is actually pretty easy. The shared space with kitchen had all the basic amenities and a fridge to s…

Unique and cool place, but be aware this spot is more of a camping spot rather than staying in a developed home. The building is more of a shack with only Christmas lights for lighting, there's no fan or windows to open so it gets really hot and muggy inside, there's about a 4in…

Thanks for your feedback I'll definitely use it. I'm sorry the off grid ohana wasn't your cup of tea. However I disagree with your rating on value. Its $40 for a couple to get a camping permit on the Big island... you paid under $40 a night for power, fridge, internet, hot water and toiletries. Not sure how that's considered a 2 star on value. Mahalo for your stay.

If you are looking for a unique experience with great value, I would recommend staying here. The accommodations are literally built on an old lava flow, and offer a unique opportunity to stay off the grid, close to nature. These benefits also make for somewhat rustic accommodatio…
