We had a brilliant stay at el Hermita. The house is fantastic with beautiful views from various picture windows and a modern kitchen. The house itself is traditional, and simply furnished, and it is comfortable and very clean. The terrace is incredible with about 5 different levels and great views over the valley. Lovely pool and garden, and when we were there in August there were lemons and mangos ready to eat on the trees. Zoraida was really helpful and friendly, and we met Peter briefly who was also really welcoming. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. And I very much hope to return. Thank you both!

We've just had a wonderful relaxing week at Peter & Zoraida's lovely house La Ermita del Consuelo. Pre arrival communication was great and very prompt, and Peter was there to meet us and show us through the maze of narrow streets inspite our being later than planned. The house was just as the photos and description said it would be - rustic and charming and a perfect bolt hole for the two of us for a week of R and R. The garden is lovely and quiet with areas of sun and shade most times of the day. Our favourite spot was the highest terrace where we'd sit for sundowners and take in the amazing view. Inside, the kitchen is brilliant if you like to eat in (or out in the garden which we did every night) and the living and dining areas inside are really charming. Upstairs is a bit more basic but the shower is good and to be honest you don't spend much time in bed do you! Watch out for low door beams (ouch - all my own fault) and be aware that you will encounter bugs and beasties - but mostly outside and at least mozzies were not a problem so you can sleep with windows open when really hot. Peter and Zoraida are both very friendly, very knowledgeable about the local area and very discreet if you want to be left to your own devices. Overall a great place for us and excellent value for money. PS. Castle, shops, bars and restaurants all within walking distance - but it is quite hilly.

Charming property, with a great location in a pretty town. The house was really well provisioned - an oasis of tranquility and cool. Peter was a welcoming host, who was there when needed, and provided useful recommendations of places to visit and eat in town and the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend a visit.

What a truly wonderful stay. WE had trouble with our car hire so we're late. Peter was so helpful and understanding . Helped us with parking, showed us around the house which was stunning and told us it history which my daughter has told everyone about. The house was clean, cosy, and full of qwerky charm. The yard out back was wonderful. Very private with fabulous views. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Thank you so much to you both. Terri and Caleb

Peter made us feel welcome and as we arrived in the dark, he met us a street away to help with our luggage as parking outside the house is difficult. Sadly we didn't meet his Spanish wife Zoraida . Definitely a very laid back house with what the locals call a hippy vibe! Luckily we like cats as they come and go through the house and garden!

We had a lovely 9 day holiday at La Ermita in early September with our 2.5 year old. Peter was extremely welcoming and helpful, and went out of his way to ensure that we had a very happy holiday in Jimena and the surrounding area. The house itself is very interesting with a well equipped kitchen, and we made full use of the picturesque outside area and pool. Our one caveat, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, is that the property has a few hazards which we felt made it unsuitable for pre-school children. Nonetheless, we had a wonderful holiday!
