My Shepherd's Hut is ideal for walkers and cyclists. Newly-built in a traditional design by a local craftsman; it offers glamping for two in style. Located in my large south-facing private garden alongside the river in the idyllic Kentmere Valley. I am just a 15 minute drive from the picturesque Lakeland village of Staveley which has a range of shops, pubs and services. Only 25 minutes to Windermere Lake and Bowness. Kentmere offers spectacular walks and mountain-bike trails, on the doorstep!

The space
The Shepherd’s Hut is fitted with a wood burning stove, and for outdoor cooking, a Kadai fire-pit (wood provided). The hut has lighting, power sockets, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, chairs, foldaway table, and a double bed. (Linen and towels provided). Free Wi-Fi with high speed Broadband. Lap top friendly work space. Close at hand a few yards away is the WC/ incorporating a new Shower and towel warmer, accessed via the back door of the main house. Kitchen facilities are in the old conservatory with a mini cooker, mini fridge, pots, pans, table and chairs, bike rack, boot rack and an electric drying rack for clothes. This also provides a pleasant and peaceful space to sit over looking the River Kent.

Guest access
You will have exclusive use of the Shepherd's Hut and the adjacent slate-flagged seating area. You are most welcome to explore my large garden and riverside terrace with garden furniture where you can relax and take in the superb mountain views. Ideal for tranquil afternoon teas overlooking the river with its abundance of wild life or breakfast outside on a warm, sunny summer morning. On occasions, the riverside is open to walkers. Help yourself to fresh free range eggs laid daily by my hens in the garden hen hut.
By car, 'Low Bridge' is less than 30 minutes from M6 J36. By rail, the journey from London Euston to /staveley Station takes about 4 hours, including a change at Oxenholme - The Lake District. By bike, car or taxi (taxis require pre-booking) the journey from Staveley is about 15 minutes. GPS is likely to take you to Kentmere church 300 meters away just past my house. Low Bridge is marked on Ordnance survey maps (GR 458 040). The house is located on the right immediately after crossing the little, flat bridge over the river Kent. Look out for the post-box on the left, opposite my gateway. Free private off road parking available for 2 cars.

Other things to note
History of Low Bridge - The very first editions of Alfred Wainwright's famous Lake District guide books were published by Henry Marshall of Low Bridge Kentmere. The house has also been previously used as a temperance hotel, pub, and post office. Kentmere valley was the inspiration for the Postman Pat children's books!
