This self-contained trailer has been a well loved part our home since 2010. We’re happy to welcome friends and visitors to stay in it from time to time.
A beautiful, wild and remote setting on the West Coast of Scotland. Peace and quiet! A useful stopover en route to the Skye ferry. Cars and wellies recommended!
Eggs & local produce available. 30mins drive to shops/pubs.
If you enjoy the company of chickens, ducks, and a friendly collie, you should like it here! We look forward to welcoming you.

The space
This vintage caravan is a cosy, quiet, self-contained space positioned by our house. It has views of mountains and trees. There’s a double bedroom and another small bedroom that can be arranged either with a small double bed or two small beds ideal for children, a living area with sofa-bed and couches, dining table and freeview tv, and a kitchenette. The bathroom has a shower, washbasin and toilet.

Guest access
This self-catering accommodation has its own private lockable entrance. Guests have access to the caravan, garden, and driveway.

Other things to note
Nearest shops/pubs are a 15-30min DRIVE away - it's a good idea to bring everything you need as the road is long and you may not feel like going out again!

Please let me know in advance if you require the twin beds or sofa-bed made up. We are asking guests to kindly bring their own bedding, pillows, and towels for hygiene reasons.

We also advise guests to bring bottled drinking water as our private supply is peaty and untreated.

From the last week of May through to early September it is midge season in the Scottish Highlands, so be prepared to encounter these tiny biting flies - however, a light breeze and a stick of citronella incense is usually enough to disperse them! On still nights I strongly recommend that you keep the windows closed, otherwise you may find clouds of midges invade your space. There is a cooling fan to make warm evenings more comfortable.

With such good memories of travelling, and having been on the receiving end of amazing hospitality and friendliness over the years, we're enjoying paying it back! In 2005 we set up Wildwood Bushcraft - providing outdoor courses and experiences to those who want to learn survival skills in beautiful wilderness environments. In 2010 we moved to the west coast of Scotland, and project-managed the build of our wooden house, which was an adventure in itself! We also now have bees, chickens and ducks and a friendly collie dog, and are slowly turning the land around our home into a permaculture-inspired forest garden. Since 2015, alongside our other work, we've enjoyed welcoming a few guests during the summer months, to our woodland tipi-camp and caravan. We enjoy meeting folks who appreciate the simple outdoor life, and this special location. Look forward to meeting you! Alison & Leon
