Quiet, sunny guest room in a comfortable SE Portland home. Cook in the modern kitchen, play the grand piano in the living room, and browse the big library. Lovely park across the street, bus stop at the corner, right on the newest MAX line.

Guest access

You have a private bedroom and private bath, and access to the well-stocked kitchen, comfy living room (help yourself to the grand piano), and a lovely (renovated in 2017!) patio for enjoying your morning crossword or evening glass of wine outside.

Interaction with guests

I'm pretty quiet and mostly keep to myself, but am happy to chat. I made one of my closest friends through Airbnb!

Other things to note

The bed in the guest room is an incredibly comfortable pull-out (top-of-the-line from American Leather, new in 2014): my parents picked it out to sleep on when they visit (and they're fussy). I use Boll and Branch sheets, along with soft linen duvets from Eileen Fisher. You'll sleep soundly!

I have an outstanding professional cleaning service who come before each guest's arrival, so the place will be spotless when you check in.

The house is pretty meticulously organized, and would be a good fit for similarly tidy guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Marisa's pleasant and comfortable home. Everything was well organised. Lots of good and clear directions. The location in SE Portland, so close to Max and good buses meant we hardly needed to use our car. Marisa kindly guided us through some problem-solving on the use of remotes for TV and DVD. We are both seniors..!! All worked well. Not all Airbnb's have laundry facilities. Marisa's does. We found it particularly helpful to be able to do our laundry and iron clothes as our stay was for a week. Thank you Marisa.

Marisa's home is immaculate and yet comfortable, true in every detail to the listing photos, and she has invested lots of time and effort in making her guests' AirBnB experiences enjoyable. Our pre-trip communication was pleasant and thorough. My SO, 15-year-old son, and I had a wonderful week exploring Portland with Marisa's house as our home base. We had a rental car, but it stayed parked for most of our visit as we primarily walked and used the convenient, close-by, and affordable public transportation system. Having laundry facilities and a full, well-supplied kitchen gave us so much flexibility and helped us manage our budget and blood-sugar levels by not eating EVERY meal out. (Though there are so many excellent options, we came close!) Our overall takeaway after this visit was that we felt fortunate to have had the privilege to stay in this sweet spot. Highly recommend.

We spent 2 weeks here to be near our daughter when our first grandson was born. Marisa's home is sooo comfortable. She carefully and thoughtfully left helpful notes around that anticipated all our questions. The kitchen was very well equipped and the Sonos speakers were my personal favorite. Her home is immaculate. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful, modern, clean, sunny home! Safe and convenient location with lots of kids running around and people walking their dogs. Not too far a drive from anything. Kitchen has everything you need to whip up your own food - we saved a lot of money by eating in rather than dining out every night. I'm so glad we opted to stay at Marisa's home! Definitely recommend that you stay here when visiting Portland!

Marissa's home was a fantastic location for staying in Portland! Though we actually live here, and were staying at Marissa's while waiting to move into our new home, the row home is SO convenient to exploring P-town! The two bedroom space was perfect for us, with a teen, as it gave him his own space and the layout was ideal for having separate areas to be in. The only drawback was the only TV was in the 2nd bedroom. However, that just made us stay busy doing things other than in front of the TV. Excellent value for the location, space, and accessibility.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Portland. The house was in a perfect location we mostly were there to sleep as our days were busy doing day trips to see as much as we could ! Marisa was very helpful throughout the entire process checking to make sure we arrived all right as she was out of town. Unit very clean welcoming and comfortable

The neighborhood was quiet and right on the max line so travel to downtown was super easy. Marisa left notes for everything and was fast to respond to messages. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I'm a New Yorker, transplanted to Portland. I run a math education non-profit, focusing on exceptionally talented high school students. When I'm not chatting math with smart & cool teenagers, I spend my time brewing pourover coffee, mixing modern and classic cocktails, doing the crossword, playing music, and visiting my favorite cities worldwide.
