From the queen bed, you can hear owls at night.. or maybe if the wind is right, the far way sounds of a freight train or a departing ship on the river.

Such a beautiful and relaxing location, and right next to the amazing trail systems of Forest Park. So secluded yet so close to all the culture of downtown Portland. You won't be disappointed .

This was my first Airbnb experience and I am afraid none other will be able to live up to it. The stunning quiet and magical location, the outstanding breakfast and really lovely attention to detail made me want to make it a regular vacation spot. The spacious room and grand bathroom, both with amazing view windows, sitting right snuggled into the forest, made me feel I was in a happy place and all was right with the world. I laid on the oversized window seat and watch the sun brighten the forest early in the morning, and it's marked in my memory as a favorite. I highly recommend this escape. Also, in & minutes I was in up town portland at Walgreens for a late night run. So convenient for a woodland retreat.

Margie's Bed-and-Breakfast experience was amazing! my boyfriend and I had a lovely stay. When we first arrived we were stunned by the beauty of Macleay Park and the cozy look of Margie's home. As we walked into the home and around the property we quickly learned that this was going to be an incredible experience! The home is cozy, with wonderful woodwork and wood finishes, large windows and lots of charm! Margie was a lovely host, quickly welcoming us and making us feel right at home! With only a 10 min drive into downtown, we were excited to be secluded into this gorgeous place, but still be close the bustling fun that downtown Portland had to offer! The next morning, Margie had prepared a gourmet breakfast for us, a yummy croissant strata with a parfait and homemade granola Margie prepared from her own bees! Margie, David, and Alice (puppy) thanks so much for making our birthday weekend get-away one we will remember fondly!! Macarena

Goethe wrote, and I wholeheartedly believe: "Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."

I thoroughly enjoy meeting people, and we have developed friends all over the world. A favorite place is The Netherlands where we once lived, and I dream of returning to Australia for an extended stay. I really enjoy ocean kayaking, rock-climbing, casual biking, and hiking. I am surprised at my "addiction" to the iPad which I have been able to incorporate into many aspects of my life... working with elderly hospice patients, cooking gourmet foods at home, or reading National Geographic by the fire at night.

We strive for a smaller impact on our world with strong tenets of sustainability in our daily lives.

Come stay. We live in a place that will soothe your spirit as we sit on the edge of Forest Park, and yet is only 5 minutes by car from the great restaurants and shops of NW Portland.
