Our small studio with its mini loft, fully equipped kitchen and wood stove will provide you with a cosy refuge after a day's trek or a trip to the sea.

We are located in a beautiful, tranquil and remote valley up a windy road at the foothills of mount Mangerton, 10 mins from the main Kenmare road.
The studio is across the yard from our family home and surrounded by a beautiful mature garden which you're welcome to explore. The studio contains a Bluetooth sound system and a washing machine.

The space

This small studio built next to a traditional stone house is situated at the foothills of Mangerton, one of the highest mountains in Ireland.
The studio is on the ground of a mature garden with a large vegetable plot, lots of flowers, a poly tunnel, a greenhouse and a few hens. Guests are welcomed to vegetables and herbs.
A windmill and the solar panels provide the apartment with renewable energy and hot water to guarantee a truly sustainable stay!
We provide a few eggs on arrival providing the hens are laying.
The studio is quite small but cosy. It consists of a small bathroom with toilet and shower, a fully equipped kitchenette, a main room with a wood burning stove, a sofa bed for 2 and also a small loft which holds a double bed. The loft has quite a small amount of head room and so therefore some people may prefer to use the sofa bed.
Although we do not provide breakfast, the kitchen contains coffee, jam, butter, milk, cereals, eggs, oil and condiments.
We also provide bed clothes and towels. The bathroom is equipped with soap, shampoo and conditioner.
It is an ideal location for anyone looking for peace and quiet in the Kerry hills with a great choice of walking and maybe if you are lucky, a sighting of the White Tail eagle!
The lovely town of Kenmare reputed for its restaurants, pubs and markets is 20 minutes away by car.
If you are interested in traditional music you can find it in Kilgarvan every Thursday where local musicians meet up or equally in Kenmare in various pubs.
From there numerous day trips are possible either along the northern peninsula and the ring of Kerry or towards the south with the equally beautiful Ring of Beara.
Killarney is on the other side of the mountain and can be reached by car in 40 minutes or by foot for the truly adventurous!

A really peaceful location with lovely views and a beautiful garden. A cleverly organised space has been created which is cosy and clean. We were also inspired by the hosts use of wind power to create electricity for the house. Gerry and Isabelle were also very welcoming. A perfect place for exploring the mountains and bays of Kerry.

What a wonderful place to stay! Isabelle and Gerry were perfect hosts, doing everything possible to make me feel welcome and enjoy my stay. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the property itself is a complete delight. I only wish that I had stayed longer!

Isabelle's cabin was compact and cosy and well thought-out. We had everything we needed and could have stayed for much longer. Isabelle and Gerry were warm and welcoming. We enjoyed our tea and conversation and loved the location. Thanks to you both!

This eco studio is absolutely charming! Very efficient, with everything you need. The fireplace was excellent and warmed the studio quickly. Very cozy and comfortable. The studio is secluded way back in the hills, and the views are gorgeous, Isabelle's garden is wonderful, and we really enjoyed our stay. We were only there for 1 night and wish we had more time!

This is the ultimate AirB&B - a lovely cosy self contained studio in the midst of a lush garden in the beautiful Kerry countryside. With a wood burning stove, really well designed interior and great hosts too. Just perfect.

We were made to feel very welcome at the lodge, Isabell provided us with fresh eggs and jam and there was tea and real coffee too, also shampoo and shower gel so we had everything we could need, the fire was lit on our arrival and we were warm and cozy durin our stay. Isabell and Gerry were so friendly and made sure we felt at home there. Beautiful surroundings and not far from kilarney national park. Isabell and Gerry are great hosts we would come and stay again.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! We received a very warm welcome on a cold and wet night and a log fire was lit for us on arrival. The studio had everything we needed, was warm and cosy and a lovely place to come back to after exploring Kerry. The setting is pretty remote but this just adds to its charm! Isabelle and Gerry were very friendly and helpful - would highly recommend their studio for a visit to beautiful Kerry.
