The space

Comfortable, spacious ground floor apartment with garden, two cats included (we expect you to look after them a little bit)! Cosy living room with a vintage touch and working fireplace. Fully equipped, practical kitchen with oven and dishwasher. Master bedroom for 2 with extra large Auping bed.

Amenities: Wi-Fi, flat-screen tv with stereo sound system (connectable to laptop or phone), large collection of Dutch and English (cook)books. Kitchen features a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, water boiler, toaster, fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, panini grill. Washing machine, dryer and hair dryer are available for use. Towels and bed linen included.

The house and its garden are at your own private disposal.

We will not be present during our guests' stay (but our two cats will).

We live in a classy but laid-back neighborhood where parking is free! Not only a stone's throw away from world-class museums, specialty food stores and the Frederik Hendriklaan (renowned high-class shopping street), but also a 20-minute walk away from the beach (Scheveningen). Great location for expats (internationally-oriented shops galore, World Forum nearby).

Easy access to other parts of the city or the beach by public transport (2 min walk to the tram or bus). And did we already mention the free parking in front of the door?

If you are curious about the references to Whiskey in our reviews; she was our previous cat. Unfortunately, she passed away in the summer of 2014.

The neighbourhood

Our neighborhood is classy but laid-back, the English translation being "Stately Quarter" for a reason! The focal point of the neighborhood is the shopping street Frederik Hendriklaan – known simply as “the Fred” – with a wide variety of specialty shops and lunch / dinner spots. A substantial percentage of the inhabitants are expats. The streets are lined with beautiful old buildings and are frequented by a large number of families with children and posh senior citizens :-)

Other things to note

Our house is inhabited by two (female) cats: cuddly black Nori and independent one-eyed Miso. The cats are relatively quiet. They get along well with each other and will play around the house from time to time. Miso and Nori are serviced by an automated food dispenser system, but do need some fresh water from time to time.
