Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Route 66 themed b&b located near bike trail and Historic Route 66 Mother Road in charming small town Middle America. Convenient access to major interstate enroute metro St. Louis and many local attractions.

The space
Two themed bedrooms create a unique ambiance for your stay. The Dance with Dragons bedroom features a fantasy wall mural and star-glow ceiling to keep you enchanted all through the night. Step back to Old Route 66 in the 1930 room complete with vintage furniture and down home charm.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the back door entry to the common are "family" room and upstairs suite of two bedrooms and a bath with spacious hallway sitting area. Board games, TV and dining table are available for use along with outdoor patio, backyard and firepit (in season). Washer and dryer are available for guest use as well.

Other things to note
We welcome a diversity of guests and those with specialized dietary considerations but are no longer able to provide homecooked options on site. We recommend all guests either bring in their own food to be stored on site in the appliances provided or order carry out/delivery to help support our area small businesses during this difficult time. We will now aim to practice social distancing and allow guests self-check in/out and will only interact as needed to suit the level of comfort for each guest. We, personally, are not concerned about any contagion to ourselves and have little concern of being a health threat to others, as we comply with Airbnb's rigid standards of increased cleaning and disinfecting practices.

We are a fairly quiet residential area in our small town. Our town of pop. 4500 has a thriving main street with several eateries including Subway, Hardees, Casey's pizza and assorted locally owned ethnic cuisine including Italian, Mexican and Asian. We recommend eating at our favorite family Restaurant, R&B's located a mere block from our guest house. Shop at Vintage Station or Sullivan's for some unique gifts and quilters will love browsing Itchin' to be Stitchin'. Or just enjoy walking or riding through town and explore our friendly neighborhood.

We live right on the historic Mother Road in the heartland of America where we've been getting our kicks on Route 66 for over 30 years. Diane is a teacher turned recently published novelist married to Don, a truck mechanic who likes to tinker with small engines and talk cars with whoever is interested. We love traveling and have toured the US from coast to coast and would love to travel abroad someday, especially visiting those places we've read about in novels or seen on film. Food is also an important part of our travel experience and we bring a love of cooking and varied cuisine to the table in our home. We love entertaining and hosting friends and family, so airbnb just seemed the logical home based business for us. We hope you think so too!

During your stay
We are on sight to help make your stay pleasant and carefree, but will afford as much privacy and independence as you desire. A kitchenette/dining area with small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and electric kettle are available for self-serve dining in and storing your own food items. In light of the recent COVID-19 crisis, we will no longer be serving breakfast but will provide a basket of pre-packaged snack options to choose from and recommend a number of area restaurants within an easy walk or drive away that all provide carry out or delivery service and are currently practicing curbside or drive thru services while also practicing current state guidelines for health and safety.
