The Dawson bedroom looks directly upon the riverside conservation land named for a former owner of The 1797 House, noted environmentalist Alexandra Dawson. You will have stunning views of the Connecticut River in all seasons and glorious sunset views bestowed by a fortuitous Westward jog of the river. Lovers of nature, farm fields and early American architecture will enjoy walks along the historic West Street common. We are pet friendly! And friendly to all.

This place was awesome! First of all, there is a lot of space! Second of all, this house is practically a museum of colonial-era living, one you can actually live in. Also, Betty the beagle is the cutest sweetest dog and she will make your stay. Andrew was awesome. He makes the c…

Response from Andrew:
A very thoughtful and helpful review, Emily. The door has been planed into a better fit after it REALLY got stuck on the room’s next guest. And I will renew my efforts to have the tidiest and happiest experience for all our guests.
