Step back in time in this restored century-old home nestled in the heart of Port Kirwan. Located along the Irish Loop, this tiny town (a population of 42) is the perfect place to relax for a quiet Newfoundland vacation. With the East Coast Trail and whale and bird watching nearby, there won't be a shortage of adventures to go on.

The space
This house has been refurbished with all the necessary modern amenities while still maintaining its early 1900s charm. Overlooking the Fermeuse Harbour and the pastures of Aylward's Farm, this will be the perfect place to relax. You can also try your hand at cooking with a traditional wood stove but if that's not for you, the kitchen has a modern one as well.

Guest access
You'll have this 4-bedroom home and property to yourself.

Other things to note
If you're up for a bit of a drive, there are loads of activities in the area to keep you entertained. Visit the largest colony of puffins in North America 45 minutes away at the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve and enjoy up close and personal views with whale & puffin boat tours. The Ferryland Lighthouse Picnic is just a 15 minute drive away where you can eat delicious homemade food indoors or outdoors with a beautiful view of the ocean. As well, it is 40 minutes to Portugal Cove South to visit Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve, a World Heritage Site containing one of the most diverse and well-preserved collections of Precambrian fossils in the world, and 70 kilometres to Cape Race, home of the Cape Race Lighthouse notable for having received the distress call from the Titanic. If you're feeling adventurous, sea-kayaking is just a half hour away, perfect for lovers of the outdoors who want to get up close and personal with Newfoundland’s coastline.

This tiny traditional Newfoundland fishing community is the perfect place to have a relaxing vacation. You can hike along the East Coast Trail just steps away or go whale & bird watching nearby. The town is located 80 kilometres south of St. John's and on the drive up, view a shipwreck in the Fermeuse Harbour - the 1948 wreck of the S.S. Ilex. For those who'd like to venture closer, a short hike along the rocky beach in Kingman's Cove will allow for a close up view.
