Wonderful, small Pousada, in a totally relaxing atmosphere. Sagi is a very nice, small, cozy village in a great landscape. The big and very charming bamboo room with a very cool balcony (hang out there and relax in the hammock, what a feeling, yeah! :-), offered absolute privacy and an infinity view over the village and beach. The hosts Rand and Liberato are great and made us feel at home, from the minute we arrived. The breakfast was wonderful, best pao de queijo ever! We totally enjoyed our stay and absolutely recommend it.

We just arrived at the pousada after a 20h trip from NYC. The guest greeted us with a very heavy alcohol breath. He showed us our room with was not as pristine as described: the sink was replaced by a plastic bucket, the handle of the shower was broke left on the floor... A big Appartment lot was spoiling the view on the left side (pix of the view was cropped not to show it), and beach was 15 min away by foot. Worst than the room was the behavior of the host. While we were together in the room, the guests from the Appartment below started talking and we could hear every single word of their conversation. Before booking the place I had mentioned to the host that my husband was suffering from anxiety with noise to be sure it is the right place for us. When I brought that again to his attention he became very aggressive, mocking my husband's disability at multiple occasions. When I told him that he should show some empathy because it is a disease he said that "maybe if he was Brazilian he could empathize but he was American and did not get this kind of irrational behaviors". His attitude (and alcohol breath) and the fact that he was leaving right next to us and was keep on mocking the issue made us very uncomfortable and we decided to leave right away. Of course, no need to mention that he refused to refund us a single dollar. We have been traveling across brazil every year for the last 20 years. There are so many wonderful places. Don't waist your time with this one.

This was one of our best stops in Brazil. The room/ cabin was extraordinary, clean and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed the nights on our balcony and the great view. Our hosts were great and surprised us with a different, homemade breakfast every morning. They recommanded a walking trip with a local guide to us which also was quite a fantastic experience. Thanks for our great, unforgettable stay!

Sabambugi is a wonderful place to get away from the noise and the crowds in the larger cities of Brazil. My girlfriend and I spent the last 2 nights of our World Cup trip there and wished we could have stayed longer. The room and view are absolutely amazing down to the last detail. Hosts Rand and Liberto have created a wonderful experience in the remote village of Sagi, and prepare an amazing traditional breakfast to match. We would recommend anyone interested in going off the beaten path to make a stop at Sabambugi, it will be the best part of your trip!

Sabambugi is well described as a refuge. Its isolated location and verdant surroundings leave one feeling at peace, at one with the environment. The view is unmatchable - I had the delight of enjoying sunrise in the morning and moonrise at night during my stay - I advise you take a look at the lunar calendar before you book your dates! Breakfast was a particular highlight for me. Liberato serves plate after plate after plate, home-made cakes and breads, pao de queijo, tapioca, sweet and succulent fruits, cheeses, spreads, juice, coffee. The table groans under the weight of the food! Everything is home-made with care and much love. Liberato is amazing in the kitchen; he revels in his guests' pleasure, and is delighted by their enjoyment! After a time with writer's block, I discovered that Sabambugi inspired me to put pen to paper. I am really pleased with what I created there. The locak of interference from WiFi, power lines, vibrations, electrodomestic appliances and so on makes for a very pure envorinoment energetically, and this stimulates the creative process immensely. It is an amazing place for anyone who enjoys creative expression. Liberato and Rand are great hosts - welcoming and warm, while very much respecting my privacy, and letting me mark the pace of our interaction. I spent a very pleasant evening with them at the Refugio, enjoying their company, the vibrant night sky, great music and lovely conversation. Due to my job, I travel 24/7/365, and live in hotels wherever I go. I can honestly stay that the three nights I spent at Sabambugi were the best nights I have spent anywhere. I will be back, for a longer stay next time.

It was a great experience stay in Sabambugi! I stay with my boyfriend for 5 nights at Sabambugi, everything was perfect! The room was incredible, extremely comfortable and designed with good taste maintaining a perfect balance with nature that surrounds it. The balcony has a beautiful view, you will want to stay there all day in the hamaca! The breakfast was delicious, everything was fresh and home made. Finally, the hosts were very helpful and kind with us, they gave us all the tips to discover Sagi, its nature and spirit. We can´t wait to go back to Sabambugi!

I stayed with my boyfriend 3 days in Sabambugi. The room is really nice, it feels like living in a modern tree house surrounded 100% by nature. The view is breathtaking and breakfast is amazing, everything is home made, breads, juices, and typical brazilian food. However, you need to be prepared to live a very quiet experience, the town is very small and not much prepared for tourism. It has 2 local restaurants that close at 7 pm and a small market that closes at 5 pm. The beach is big and deserted but until early afternoon is busy with buggies. It is an ideal experience to rest and disconect from the rest of the world.

• A pousada with only two suites ensures privacy and attentive service
• Unparalleled vistas of dunes, the Sagi River, beach and sea
• Bamboo construction with artisanal details creates a peaceful, romantic atmosphere
• Surrounded by native vegetation, yet part of an isolated fishing village
