Light-filled, comfortable 2 bedroom/1 bath flat close to the beach in the Malvarrosa neighborhood of Valencia. Air Conditioning, Internet/WIFI, very equipped kitchen. We do everything we can to help our guests enjoy their stay in Valencia.

The space

Sunny 2 bedroom apartment in Valencia, Spain just blocks from la Malvarrosa beach. Why stay in a hotel when you can enjoy the conveniences of our furnished and fully-equipped flat in Valencia's Malvarrosa neighborhood? Rent our apartment for as few as 3 nights or as long as a month or more while you explore Valencia. There is a queen size bed in one bedroom and a twin/trundle in another. The living room futon also opens to a full size bed.

Do you want to spend an extended stay in Valencia? Learn Spanish? I have helped several families spend anywhere from 2-8 months in our apartment. Many have sent their children to school or daycare of have themselves enrolled in Spanish language courses. I am happy to help you all with that!

In addition to providing you with all of the sheets and towels for your stay, our flat has books for adults and children to read in multiple languages. Our family collection is a mix of Spanish and English but our guests have left German, Ukranian and Russian books. We have some small beach toys for the children as well as some puzzles and games to play with.

Our combined living/dining space is a large open room with a nice western view. From the small balcony (really just large enough to hang laundry or stand and enjoy the view or possibly sit with a chair) you can see the sun set, watch the children play soccer in a private school yard or look out onto the street Gran Canaria.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a residential building and is just a block from retail shops, on the same block as a tourism office and just steps away from many bus lines to take you anywhere in Valencia including la Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias (city of arts and sciences) or la Ciudad Vieja (theold town) The beach is just four blocks away and is great spot to hunt for sea glass, have a drink or swim - at least from May - November!

If you are interested in seaglass/beach glass, please let me know and I'll give you some detailed instructions on where I find my best pieces!

My family spent a year living in Valencia and although we no longer live there, we visit several times per year. I have helped my former tenants/renters plan their vacations, choose Spanish language schools and even register their children for school during their sabatticals in Valencia.

One of the things that drew me to the Malvarrosa neighborhood was that it still maintains many of the traditional aspects of Valencia. Valenciano is still spoken in the streets and it almost seems a bit more like a summer village that is part of Valencia.

It is one of the best communicated parts of Valencia in terms of bus service. There are at least 7 bus routes that go through the neighborhood including the 1, 2, 19, 31 and 32. There are also several night and/or summer bus routes marked by N that go through.

It's also a great place to get meals to go. On calle Gran Canaria as well as calle Mendizobal, you can pick up paella, croquetas, pollo asado (roast chicken), bacalao (cod) for a fraction of the cost of what you would pay in a restaurant. You can also find very well priced "menu del dia" at the local restaurants. Best of all, the beach is always just a few blocks away.

The worse thing about Valencia has got to be that many dog owners still do not clean up after their pets. This appears to happen more frequently in Valencia than in other cities in Spain and it makes me crazy. If I could change it, I would. Please take care with you and your children when you walk.

In addition to renting our apartment, we also rent when we travel. I think you will find our kitchen and our apartment in general to be one of the best equipped. We do our best to leave you a little welcome basket or fresh fruit and a Spanish bottle of wine. If there is something that you think we need, please let me know.

I hope you enjoy your stay!

Guest access

Guests will have access to everything in the apartment except for a small trunk that is locked with personal items. This will be your home during your stay in Valencia.

Interaction with guests

I'm an email or phone call away. If I'm not available, Luis, Erika or Carmen are on call to help with any emergencies that might come up.

Other things to note

I like to leave shampoo, soap, paper products and any other household products that you might need on a daily basis. If you are a longer term guest (more than 1 week) please be considerate and either replace these items as they run out or at least leave enough for the next guest.

House Rules
No smoking
Not suitable for pets
No parties or events

The apartment is a non-smoking apartment. Any violation of this policy will result in losing the entire security deposit. No pets without prior approval and deposit. Please remember this is a residential apartment building, so please no noise after 10pm or before 9am.

Because we have a tile floor, please take care if wearing shoes with heels (we typically remove our shoes) or moving suitcases or chairs, especially early in the morning or late at night as we do have a family living in the apartment below.

No charge for children under 12, but they do count for maximum occupancy. All occupants of the flat must be cleared with the property owner prior to arrival and no additional guests are permitted in the apartment without prior approval. Should you want an additional guest to visit during part of your stay, with prior approval we can arrange that for a nominal surcharge of 15 euros per night.

In the summer months, care must be taken when using the air conditioner. This includes emptying the condensation water which drains into a container on the balcony.

Air conditioning units and/or heating units may not be left on when the guest is not in the property.

Before coming in from the beach, please shake off all sand in the street. If you do so from the balcony, that sand can fall on the clothes drying below and is not very neighborly. Likewise, please rinse off at the beach as sand can clog the shower.

We leave paper products, cleaning items and kitchen essentials in the apartment. Please replace what you use.

Please take care of the apartment as you would your own and leave it clean when you depart.

Lovely and clean apartment in an ideal location for the beach, as well as close to a bus to the city centre. Emily is a great host - great at communicating and offering advice on where to go in Valencia, and Louis, who manages the apartment, is also very helpful. We were greeted upon arrival with a bottle of wine and a fruit bowl which was a wonderful welcome! I recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to stay close to the beach but with good access to the city.

We were welcomed by Anna, who showed us around the apartment. She supplied a lovely bottle of wine and a basket of fruit. Lovely lady. Emily's apartment is spacious. We were 2 senior adults. The shower recess is quite small, and my partner found it a little squeazy. All things supplied, but advised Emily there was no jug to boil water and the tile under the bidet was loose. The main bedroom surrounds a common area, so a little noisy in the mornings, of residents starting their day..Only a short walk to a lovely beach, Emily has beach umbrellas and mats. Lots of local cafes, bars nearby. We found just around the corner, La Trevesia a nice little bar whereby when you get a drink, they then provide you with snacks. The supermarket nearby is a fantastic shop. The bus stop is only a 5 minute walk away to take you into the city. I wanted a pedicure and Anna was very helpful in making appointment for me, she also arranged for a taxi to pick me up and also saw us away from the apartment and ordered a taxi for us.

This is a well located, well equipped, clean and comfortable apartment steps from the beach and close to all amenities. If you want to experience Valencia without living in the downtown core the apartment is great, away from tourists and in with the locals. It is not a chic neighbourhood, but we felt safe. We spent our days at the beach, the marina for sailing and windsurfing lessons, and at a great language school near the port. Public transit to downtown is easy. We biked everywhere. The only negative was the sewage smell which is typical near the sea in Spanish cities. We would stay here again.

Great location just outside the city center, only a couple of minutes walking to the beach, where there are plenty of bar/restaurants to enjoy some local food and drinks. The bus-stop around the corner has several lines taking you directly within the city center for only €1,50. A very big supermarket 1 min walk as well. The apartment itself is cosy, all you need is available and the air-conditioning is working well and fast, just as the Wifi. We were welcomed gently, accompanied by small presents. The host(s) offered to give us assistance in whatever necessary and gave us very extensive information beforehand. In short: a convenient and pleasant apartment with a very kind and helpful host. Highly recommended.

Emilys flat is very nice, and everything is clean, house is quiet! We enjoyed the beach and supermarkets, which are just a few minutes walk away. Towels and beach Equipment, umbrella available, thanks a lot for that. City is approx. 20 min. away by bus, bus station just around the corner. We have heard, that the neighbourhood should not be safe, but we cant confirm this.

Thank you for your review! I'm happy you enjoyed your stay. In our 10+ years of owning this apartment and hosting many guests on Airbnb since 2007, nothing at all has happened. Malvarrosa is considered a working class neighborhood and we have a very nice group of neighbors in our building. There is a group of apartment buildings several blocks away to the south where I understand there can be issues so we do avoiding walking by. However, there is also a luxury apartment building directly across the street from those apartments.

Emily was very kind! And a really good host. You could always get in touch with her and she did everything to inform us about everything and make our stay was as good as possible. I can highly recommend Emily and her flat, if you are looking for a place to stay just outside Valencia.

I love Spain, travel, good food and wine. Hunting for beach glass is one of my favorite things to do when I'm in Valencia. When I'm not busy with my family and children, I make jewelry from the seaglass I find.
