2200', 2 story adobe with high ceilings and seamless backdrop. Has been used as an artist's studio, performance space, mini film stage, office space and just a spot to relax. Wrap around porches, upper deck with loft accessed by spiral staircase.

The space

Located in a farming community a quick and easy 20 minutes south of Albuquerque this 2200 square foot adobe building is filled with New Mexico charm. The large, two story building with its high ceilings and seamless backdrop is often used as a photographer's studio, performance space, mini film stage or just a place to relax and watch the sunset. It has been a filming location for numerous advertisements and film projects including 'America's Most Wanted' and the AMC TV series 'Breaking Bad'.

It is situated behind the owner's 1930's adobe 'homestead' house on a 4 acre, small, working farm. There are sheep, chickens and other animals on the property. Small, friendly dogs on a leash will be considered as potential guests. Please ask first. (We have dogs and cats on the farm as well)

There is a small kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, coffee maker and toaster oven. All dishes and utensils are available for use. A highchair and crib are available.
There are two large grocery stores as well as a several restaurant selections 10 minutes south in the town of Los Lunas. Dining options in the village include several standard, fast-food options and 3 regional, New Mexican food choices. Numerous choices are available north 20 minutes into Albuquerque.

The drive to Albuquerque is quick and simple on Interstate 25. Just 10 minutes away there is a station for the new Rail Runner passenger train. (Please note there is no other public transportation available.) Hard Rock Casino/Spa/Concert venue is a quick 10-minute drive. You can get a massage, see a concert and loose your wages all in one beautiful spot! Isleta Pueblo -with a church dating to 1680’s- is a Native American village just 10 minutes away. The Albuquerque Airport is a quick 20 min. drive as is the University of New Mexico and countless museums and galleries. Sandia Peak Ski Area and the Sandia Tramway is within an easy 30-40 minute drive. Our town is almost exactly in the center of New Mexico and is an excellent springboard for all of your site seeing destinations throughout the state.

The community itself is a small farming town with multiple opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are miles of level, off-road cycling and easy hiking trails through the riverside cottonwood forest. (The 'Bosque'). The Rio Grande valley is an important flyway for migrating birds. November through March the area is home to large flocks of sand hill cranes and several types of geese and duck. The village has its own rodeo arena with many events, a public tennis court and playground, a small library, a paved cycling trail and numerous equestrian pathways. There is a large, gated-access locked entry for parking large trailers or RVs.

The sleeping area in the studio is in the upstairs loft and unfortunately is not handicapped accessible. There is a pillow-top king bed with luxury linens, leather couch and TV viewing/sitting area. A twin bed and a double bed is in the great room on the ground floor. (The floor plan is very open but a folding screen can offer more privacy.) The open nature of the space is best suited to family groups or good friends. The loft is accessed by a broad, exterior staircase and an interior spiral staircase. (The loft may not be suitable for adventurous toddlers!)
The building has an upstairs deck with a chairs. It is a suitable spot for stargazing or sunset watching. The downstairs has wrap around porches and is a great place to have happy hour or make a little BBQ.

The downstairs bathroom is fairly basic with a step in shower. (no bath) There are laundry facilities in the owner's home for those on an extended stay.

The quiet tranquility of the site would lull you into deep relaxation if only it weren’t for the rooster crowing. (Sorry! But you don't need an alarm clock at least!) We're certain that you will really enjoy the building and the setting. We have many repeat guests who wouldn't stay anywhere else. Please feel free to request more photos.

This place is great. We wanted something for our pets and away from the hustle of the city. Very quiet and lots of land for our 2 dogs to roam. Plenty of things to do near by, well worth it.

We might turn your dogs into sheep herders yet, Edward! Come back again anytime. :-)

I don't recommend this place for anyone. There were a lot of problems when we stayed there. The swamp cooler was obnoxiously loud and was hard to sleep with. Our bed sheets had stains in almost every bed. We were almost attacked by a black pit bull dog in the middle of the night. The walk way from the house to the Adobe house wasn't lit so you couldn't see where you were walking.

Response from Cyndy:
I'm sorry you had such an unsatisfactory stay Nadine. I've been hosting for years with primarily positive reviews. I was so embarrassed when I saw you had slept on the day bed rather than the regular bed downstairs. The day bed is a piece of out door furniture I had recently brought inside for an extra place to watch TV from. I've never actually had anyone sleep on it and I failed to check it for cleanliness. It must have been terribly uncomfortable and yes- it was not clean at all. I am so sorry (and I would like to send you a refund for the cleaning fee.) I couldn't find that any of the regular beds were unclean though and I always pay close attention to that. I'm not sure what to say about the dog as my dog is an elderly whippet who is always with me and my yard is fairly secure. That is awful and I am so sorry that happened. I also apologize that I didn't suggest that guests leave a porch light on if they are coming in late at night. We are in a rural area without any street lights. There is a motion detector light (and lots of solar path lights) that should always come on though so I appreciate you letting me know that it wasn't working. Unfortunately my space isn't for everyone and as the description notes- the space is very open and may not offer everyone enough privacy. I will be certain to add more photos so the layout will be more clear. The space is a converted work space and as a result the cooler and heater are somewhat industrial in nature. I do apologize for your less than pleasant experience and wish I would have known about everything at the time so I could have corrected it and made you more comfortable.

Cyndy's place was exactly as described. This was our first time staying in an adobe house and we found it warm and fascinating. Our daughter enjoyed the animals, trampoline, swing, etc. Cyndy made us feel at home with her warm personality. We will be returning in the spring.

Cyndy's place is ideal for a relaxing rural getaway in a beautiful part of NM. Three of us stayed there more than comfortably-- well, did fight over the EXTREMELY COMFY king bed! The kitchen was well stocked with any utensils and basics you might need, and quite handy. The bathroom was super clean and equipped with a hot, powerful shower. The studio building is located just behind the home and although we saw the sheep every now an again and Cyndy was very responsive, we city girls were able to "retreat" into the farm life. It was really cute, and absolutely felt like home four days. Lots of guide books and art books to peruse and plan or inspire your New Mexican activities! One of my favorite AirBnB experiences ever. Thanks Cyndy!
