Location

Howth, County Dublin, Ireland

Howth is an idyllic fishing village on the northeast of Dublin and has been immortalised in James Joyce’s Ulysses. The grounds of 15th-century Howth Castle have rhododendron gardens and a transport museum with local trams. The 19th-century Martello Tower houses a vintage radio museum. The medieval ruins of St. Mary’s Abbey lie nearby. A clifftop trail has sweeping sea views, indeed H.G. Wells once remarked that Howth had "the finest views west of Naples". Offshore, Ireland’s Eye is an island bird sanctuary with an ancient ruined church. Walk around the working fishing village of Howth to explore the range of food on offer. Enjoy the best traditional fish and chips in the city or sample some of the finest seafood cuisine all with the added perk of stunning coastal views.
